Congrats @RaoColby and Maddox Grant who has been making plays on defense and special teams all season

@DawsonEagleFB vs @PearlandOilers as this year's edition of the "Hometown Showdown" takes the field at the "Rig" at Pearland HS on Friday night, 7pm kickoff, live on @dctf @DCTXStreaming, featuring @JChrisPXP and @draftjm13. On offense, the Oilers are led by @thech0zenSwan who has been hammering opposing defensive units with over 400 yards rushing, thus far. QB @kalebsmith25 threw 3 TD's last week, TE @Kj_j009 is one of the better two-way weapons thanks to his blocking and pass-catching ability. WR @LanceGoreeJr1 is threatening to become of the District's best playmakers thanks to his combo of quickness, burst and acceleration in the open field. Their OL has won the LOS and could be a key reason why this version of the cross-town rivalry goes in favor of the Oilers. They are led by @RJSwan71, @RaoColby and @AJZimmerhanzel who may be one of the most improved OL's in the Houston area. Oilers D has been led by @Kamrynharris19 and @yk__tspriggs, if they are joined by a healthy DL @DeMarcoJenkins_ (Miami Commit) this unit can control the LOS, as LB Joseph Gonzales, DL's @taylan_alviza, Pryce Mireles have combined to control opposing offense through three games. The big difference, so far, has been the combined play of FS Aric Cook, DB Terrell Johnson and DB @EdwardESmith01 who also doubles as one of the best returners in the District. @Calvin_wesley8 has given the Eagles a run/pass option at RB, sophomore RB Gavin Roberson has hit the ground running, had 100 yards rushing last week vs Alvin. WR's Corey Kahn, Carter Austin, @Corey4brown are all capable of big plays, Brown also plays on defense and acts as their returner, at times. Their OL will have it's hands full against a tough front seven of the Oilers. Dawson has been led by LB's Welth Modique, Clydell Edmondson and @cadenexum18, DB Corey Brown has a few pass breakups and great overall ball skills. Fellow DB's Kobe Gunn and CB Ikenna Bradford will need to come up big to halt the pass game of the Oilers that last week racked up three TD's against the Dobie Longhorns. Last year's game was a hard-fought, four quarter slugfest that saw the Oilers come out ahead 17-13 after a hectic final 5 minutes of defensive stops and almost game-changing plays by both teams. The Oilers are 3-0, scoring over 40 per game, the Eagles scored 44 last week, but 1-2, with this rivalry showing up earlier than usual on both school's schedule. It's four quarters of football, counts as just one Win or Loss in the standings, but a fantastic finish or memorable play will get talked about for the next 20 years, and that is what Friday night football and playing under the lights in Texas, is all about!
