Build your relationships on something a little deeper than sex. Because a relationship built solely on intercourse is exactly like a newspaper. As soon as you finish reading it, it loses its fascination. And by tomorrow, it will be replaced with the latest edition. You are growing older. Others are younger than you. If your body is your only asset, you can't compete favourably for long. Eventually, you will face the law of diminishing returns. Meaning you are as discardable as any seasonal product.

I keep thinking about the many layers to this 'Japa' thing.
Stumbled today on a FB post lamenting "the migration of our (best) talents and capital out of the (South) East into Lagos and elsewhere even in greater West Africa."
I've tweeted before about this phenomenon of "internal" Japa (which, by the way, happens in every country).
It was 'Japa' that took (and keeps taking) multitudes of young people to Lagos, from various cities around Nigeria. A lot of the young people I grew up with in Abeokuta and Ibadan moved, first to Lagos, and then possibly elsewhere.
Just as we agonise over how to make Nigeria more attractive for people to stay in and move to, similar conversations are happening—or have to happen—at subnational level about how to keep more talent "at home." That's where projects like the $80m Ekiti Knowledge Zone (EKZ) come in.
Another angle to the story is how to maximise the benefits derivable from those who have Japa'd. So that even if you can't immediately bring them back, you can at least ensure they're encouraged to contribute significantly to the local economies they left behind.
(This is where I'll mention, as an example, how impressed I am by how Jarus is always talking about Offa, traveling there, and now investing there).

On the subject of feminism, let me say that life is not fair. I wish life were fair and equal. But it is not. And that is a fact of life. If you want to hold anyone responsible, face God. Expecting life to be fair is foolishness. Men and women are not the same. A man enters. A woman receives. So, the impact on both genders is different.
For example, if too many visitors enter a house, it devalues that house over time. But it does not devalue the visitors. If too many riders ride a vessel, it degrades the vessel over time. But not the riders. That is why Scripture talks about the bride price of a virgin woman-Exodus 22:17. But Scripture says no such thing about men. I agree it is not fair. Therefore, be wise. Protect your value by avoiding visitors until a permanent resident is found for your house. I know it is not fair. But life is not fair!
Again, let me use another analogy to describe the unfairness of life. Take a driver. The more cars a driver has driven, the more that driver's value increases. An experienced driver is an asset. But the more drivers a car has had, the less its value as an asset. A highly used car is a liability. High mileage is good for the driver, but bad for the car. It is wicked. It is unfair. But it is also life. Inasmuch as that is how God decreed this life to be, men and women suffer different consequences for the same actions. Are we to question God or obey Him? That is why we should teach our daughters virtue and not allow them devalue themselves in the name of being woke!

These are relevant degree courses up to tomorrow, and from a cost-benefit analysis point of view, they offer the best successful outcomes against time and money spent in a university. I may have missed one or two. But not much. The point is that many courses now offered by many universities are obsolete. According to research from the Pew Institute, some universities only offer such courses to raise their income. Many, including Oxford and Cambridge, are shutting down some out-of-date departments. Instead of spending $20,000 and four years to read a course irrelevant to modern life, you are better off taking a six to one-year course and learning a marketable on-demand skill. Please don't insult me. It is just the reality.

If I think about marriage, I think there are roughly 4 phases but this is not a general rule. [WARNING: LONG POST ALERT!]
Phase 1:
Newly married. Madly in love. Everything is “My husband…” /My wife…” Still enjoying yourselves. Spending money on nice things for each other. Going out often. Planning the future together. Sweet phase.
Phase 2:
The kids have started to come. Money is no longer enough. Stress and tension enters the marriage. The fights and arguments start. Communication is strained and each party may talk more to the kids than to each other.
Career is just getting to mid-management level and there is tension between being committed to work (so that career can advance) and being a good father/ mother and husband/ wife.
Each party wants to be proved right, as if they are collecting points in a competition for which they will get a trophy. Each party wants to claim their entitlement as husband or wife. Neither party treats the other with kindness. It is all about responsibility.
This is a very dangerous phase. If you are not careful, the marriage will crash at this stage.
Phase 3:
If the marriage survives Phase 2, there is then a phase of settlement. Career is better now. More money is coming in, although responsibilities are mounting. Now, you may build or buy your first house.
Each party will still complain about the other, sometimes to others. Each party will start to occasionally do nice things for each other again but because they have complained so much to others for so long, they can’t go back and say nice things about their spouse.
Looking at the couple, single people would have formed the impression that marriage is nothing but pain, suffering and heartache. They don’t get to hear the sweet parts.
The kids have become teenagers and school fees and rent/ mortgage are the biggest expenses in the house. The money available just about covers it.
There is the expectation of what the kids could become in future and the hope helps the marriage. The couple rally round to tackle the financial challenges.
However, at this stage too, one party may also feel that they want or deserve more, and walk away from the marriage. You will hear “I deserve to be happy and to enjoy my life. This can’t be all there is to this life. I want more.” Bad friends become much more prominent at this stage.
You could hear “I have just realised that I never really loved him/her.” Of course, sensible people will ask behind your back: “You just realised after 15 years of marriage and 3 kids, ba?😀
Phase 4:
The kids have started to leave home. It is now both of you alone most of the time. Initially, it would be awkward because the kids have always been a buffer for each party.
You then relearn communicating with each other again. Laughing again. Watching movies together again. Everyone is tired of the fights. Nobody is threatening to leave the marriage anymore. It’s too late for that now.
Saying sorry comes a lot easier. You then realise that all the pressures were external to both of you. You are kinder and nicer to each other. You start to appreciate how your spouse has helped your life. Your kids fill you with pride.
Before you know it, you finally have your husband back. You finally have your wife back.
So, if you married the love of your life, stay with it. Don’t give up. You’ll get through the tough times.
And you both will live happily ever after. 😀
Merry Christmas. 😀

‘Show Me Polygamy In The Bible’: Here It Is!
1.“If he marries another woman, he must not deprive the first one of her food, clothing and marital rights.”-Exodus 21:10.
2.“If a man has two wives, and he loves one but not the other, and both bear him sons but the firstborn is the son of the wife he does not love, when he wills his property to his sons, he must not give the rights of the firstborn to the son of the wife he loves in preference to his actual firstborn, the son of the wife he does not love.”-Deuteronomy 21:15-16.
3.“When Esau was forty years old, he married Judith daughter of Beeri the Hittite, and also Basemath daughter of Elon the Hittite.”-Genesis 26:34.
4.“Jacob made love to Rachel also, and his love for Rachel was greater than his love for Leah. And he worked for Laban another seven years.” Genesis 29:30
5.“Abigail quickly got on a donkey and, attended by her five female servants, went with David’s messengers and became his wife. David had also married Ahinoam of Jezreel, and they both were his wives. But Saul had given his daughter Michal, David’s wife, to Paltiel son of Laish, who was from Gallim.”-1 Samuel 25:42-44.
6.“Ashhur the father of Tekoa had two wives, Helah and Naarah.”-1 Chronicles 4:5.
Another instance of polygamy is Gideon. Scripture says Gideon was called by God in Judges 6:11, which says “The LORD is with you, O mighty man of valor.”
Now, this man whom the ‘Lord was with’, was a polygamist. We see this in Judges 8:20, which says “Gideon had seventy sons of his own, since he had MANY WIVES.”
Take the case of Abijah. Scripture describes him in 2 Chronicles 13:10 as a man who did not forsake God, and in 2 Chronicles 13:11, he is described as a man who carried out “the requirements of the LORD our God.”
Yet, he had many wives. We see this in 2 Chronicles 13:21:
“Abijah grew strong, married fourteen wives.”
In the case of King Joash, he was a minor when he became king. So he was out under the regency of priests (incidentally, the man who challenged me is himself a priest).
Now, it was the leading priest of God, a man called Jehoiada, who himself selected two wives for the young King Joash. And Scripture described Joash as doing “what was right in the eyes of the Lord”. We see this in 2 Chronicles 24:1-3:
“Joash was seven years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem forty years. His mother’s name was Zibiah; she was from Beersheba. Joash did what was right in the eyes of the Lord all the years of Jehoiada the priest. Jehoiada chose two wives for him, and he had sons and daughters.”
What about David, who was given his own wives, not by a priest; but by God Himself? We see that in 2 Samuel 12:8:
“I gave your master's house to you, and your master's wives into your arms. I gave you all Israel and Judah. And if all this had been too little, I would have given you even more.”
The fact of the matter is that some people are taking dogmas of their church denomination and passing it off as scriptural doctrines.
Scripture was not written in English. It was written in Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek.
For instance, many people take Christ’s words in Matthew 19:5 as being against polygamy. That verse says in English:
“For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’?
However, the actual Koine Greek word used there is gynaiki. That word does not actually mean wife. It actually means woman. That word itself is a Koine Greek translation of the Hebrew word bə·’iš·tōw.
Scripture does forbid polygamy. But ONLY for Bishops and elders, as we see in 1 Timothy 3:2:
“A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife".
I do not recommend polygamy. But that is my opinion. That is not Scripture.

The reason seas have more water than every river and stream on Earth is because they are lower than every other water source, which means their waters naturally flow into the sea. The sea is the lowest point on Earth. That is why the height of everything on Earth is calculated by how much they are above sea level. Wealth and power naturally flow to those who are humble. Those who don't place themselves above others and are not too proud to go low to get the job done.

Keep searching for the truth. Understand how the propaganda machine works. When you're NOT ALLOWED to speak about certain historic facts, when people offer to pay you to distort them or threaten you when you've spoken facts, then you'll be able to distinguish the truth from falsehood. It might take decades to realise this.
