The early sign-up fee for the 2-mile or 5-mile race is discounted at $30 or $35 for both races, said race director Michelle Lybarger. The price increases on November 1 to $35 for the 2-or 5-mile races and $40 for both. The Irvington Village Improvement Association (VIA) sponsors this event and will donate a portion of race proceeds to animal welfare organizations in Lancaster County.

ALT LANCASTER—As Election Day, November 3, nears, so does the preparation for the critical work—an accurate counting of ballots once the polls close at 7 p.m. The count starts with the ballot scanning machines. ALT Michael and Christine Downing of Northumberland County were presented the 2026 Helen and Tayloe Murphy Conservation Champion Award at the Northern Neck Land Conservancy (NNLC) Boots and Barbecue event in early October.
