Getting a few inbox corrections saying not all self-defence groups turn into cartels. Fair point and I totally agree! My earlier post was about Los Tlacos, who have pretty much become a cartel themselves. Groups like CRAC-PC and CRAC-PF have spent years defending indigenous communities in Guerrero. But when the government fails to provide security, things get messy. Just the other day, a CRAC-PF member was reportedly murdered near Chilapa, with the group blaming Los Ardillos. Imagine losing one of your own while the authorities seem nowhere to be found. Some members may feel they have no choice but to take matters into their own hands. That's the danger. Even groups with good intentions can get dragged into the same mess they're fighting against. 📸 Credit; La Jornada (Nov 2026) / El País (Oct 2026). Community police in Guerrero.
What began as a self-defence movement against organized crime in 🇲🇽 has become another armed faction in Guerrero. Los Tlacos gunmen now have a message for several communities around Iguala. 📹 Source: Zulu

In Guerrero, a drone from Los Tlacos filming Los Ardillos gunmen in Carrizal del Pinzón, Chilpancingo. Los Ardillos have operated in Guerrero for decades, while Los Tlacos emerged from a self-defence group that later graduated to a cartel. Both have fought over territory for years, despite a truce announced in 2024.

🇲🇽 Durango: A woman reportedly linked to the Cabrera Sarabia cartel is filmed in the Sierra Madre. Can't really call her a gunwoman when some1 has 2 help her shoot. Looks like the filming of a cheap recruitment ad. What a pathetic bunch of clowns.

The reality ordinary folks in some Mexican parts live in! What can you even do in that situation? Just say "good morning sir, I like your shoes and smiles" 😰

🇲🇽 Mexico has been a UN member since 1945, yet entire communities remain at the mercy of cartels. Should Mexico consider requesting UN peacekeeping assistance, or would that be admitting its own government has lost control?

1st it was the Venezuela looking to the US, now Haitians calling on Bukele to deal with their gangs. Different situations, but you can see why people are desperate enough to ask another country's president to step in. Makes you wonder who's next🤔

I know Isolation alone doesn't make it a cartel property but a secluded beachfront compound in La Huerta, Jalisco, is raising eyebrows. Tucked between the mountains and the Pacific, with limited access and plenty of privacy. Who owns it? 📸 @Francis39713159

4 CJNG sicarios in Mexico. Don't let them fool you with the videos of money, women and luxury trucks. This is ē reality: You're sleeping in the mountains, eating scraps and wondering which of your buddies might sell you out tomorrow. Some dream that is! 📸 @mexicannarcos

🇲🇽 Jan 17, El Roble, Sinaloa. Mexican Army troops confronted a cartel “narco tank.” 4 arrested, 4 rifles & 760 rounds seized. Those 4 got lucky. Plenty of others who challenged the Army never made it out alive

While cartel factions fight over Sinaloa, streamer @LoncheDeHuevito rolls in with a Lamborghini Performante and Rolls-Royce Cullinan, both widebody. All legally earned. No cartel money. That's a real Mexican heavyweight. 🇲🇽
