Before you raise, watch this. And then make sure your VCs have zero ability to make decisions over your company.
Revolut founder Nik Storonsky says one of his investors tried forcing him to fire his best person:
“He was forcing me to fire my best person, because he was too hardcore.”
“Of course I didn’t fire him. I said no.”
“Pretty early on I realized that quite a few VCs, they are not very operational, and they can be actually dangerous for the company if they have enough power. So every single investment round, we just remove VCs.”
“Now I don't have any VCs on the board. I think that's the best. You always need to have operators rather than VCs on the board, people who actually build business and who know how to do things.”
You mean make them more… artificial? 😆😏
Flapping Airplanes co-founder @aidanmantine believes training AI models on less data could make them more creative and better at generating novel ideas.
"I'm really bullish on new algorithms unlocking models that think in very different ways."
"I think that models can be pushed in this direction if they're trained on more limited data."
"If you look at why all the models talk the same way, it's because they're trained on the same data."
"If you build data-efficient algorithms and you can train models that are as smart as you and I with the same amount of data that you and I have, then they can think in a little bit weirder ways."
"They can make inferences off of more limited data."
At Gatwick Airport. Supposed to be boarding a @British_Airways flight soon but can’t.
There’s no ticket desk so they say to call British Airways.
Chat on the website can’t do anything to help and say to call British Airways.
Call: we can’t answer. Hangs up.
If we all campaign for @CountBinface and he wins, it’ll do more to restore faith in democracy than any other act since the Magna Carta.

Why has Ian Hislop of @PrivateEyeNews not yet received a Knighthood?

And it’ll send more business their way. Plus be far faster and more convenient for patients.
Abolish the GP surgeries. Those doctors can then be deployed where the need is within the health service.
What am I missing?

The partisanship in this is stark. I haven’t seen any balanced thoughts/commentary/reporting at all.
On one side you have the anti-illegal immigrant voices, supporting the efforts to keep the US safe for law-abiding citizens. Doing what they can, often pushing boundaries to achieve their goal.
On the other you have the anti-Trump voices, targeting immigration law enforcement (ICE). Largely by videoing and heckling. But in a few instances actively impeding law enforcement activities.
Surely if you object to ICE’s activities you have democratic process to aid your goals? Politicians, judicial process, speaking up without putting yourself in physical danger?
There are places to be heard, including in the media. But really, the partisanship is only going to lead to more of these clashes.
Those pleading into the ether for this to stop, nothing is going to change unless there’s a middle ground found. If you don’t move, how can you expect people with opposing views treat you with respect when you loathe them in return?
Ultimately, you live in an incredible democracy where you have real power to speak up and effect change through political process and the courts.

Disney:
The power of Disney is storytelling.
Lion King, Frozen, Toy Story, Inside Out and of course Mickey Mouse.
We love them. Cry. Feel joy. Because of the storytelling.
Netflix is winning the volume game. The scale game.
Disney’s profits are the theme parks/cruises, experiences, merchandise.
Everything Disney is in service of building long-term franchises, through exceptional storytelling.
Disney fans have a deeper connection than with anything else is entertainment.
Families save for a lifetime for Disney World.
Disney wins with storytelling.
I would sell/spin out Marvel, Star Wars and 20th Century.
And double down on Disney Pixar.
The flywheel of love from exceptional storytelling is what brings the profits to the parks and merchandise.
Disney+ should be treated as merch. A profit centre rather than betting the house that the mouse built.
When they zig, you should zag.
Paramount Skydance should aim to be the next Disney.
Streaming isn’t the future. Netflix has already won that war.
In-person experiences are AI-proof.
Disney’s profits are primarily parks and experiences.
Powered by incredible IP that we all love.
The parks increase that love. Creating a deeper bond. And an incredible profit flywheel.
Paramount should:
Sell Paramount+ to one of the other streamers. And make silly profits licensing their incredible IPs to the streamers.
Then build beautiful immersive theme parks: Star Trek, Top Gun, Mission Impossible, Transformers are made for immersion.
Universal has created the best theme park in the world with Epic Universe. Copy that model.
Epic longterm profits and a focus on storytelling, rather than streaming.
