Russia is stealing children, putting them in forced adoptions with the aggressor, changing their names and making them Russian.
Today, it became known that the leader of the Just Russia-Patriots for Truth party, Sergei Mironov, and his wife adopted a child who was taken from Ukraine. 10-month-old Margarita Prokopenko was taken last year from an orphanage in the then-occupied Kherson to the territory of the Russian Federation. There, the child's name and place of birth were changed entirely. Now, the child is registered as Marina Mironova from the Moscow region.
This is the first documented case of the adoption of a #Ukrainian child by a Russian politician of this rank. Experts in international law qualify such actions as a war crime, which is considered genocide.
Officially, Margarita and two-year-old Ilya Vashchenko were taken to Moscow for "examination, determination of further treatment tactics and rehabilitation." @HromadskeUA wrote about this in July.
It is worth noting that Margarita's father died, and her mother was deprived of parental rights. However, the girl has other relatives with the right to take custody of the child. However, this did not prevent the Russians from #kidnapping the child and changing her personal data completely. Ilya's fate is currently unknown, but it is noted that he also held a new birth certificate.
Nothing is surprising about such news today. The #Russian authorities are pursuing a systemic genocidal policy against the Ukrainian nation, using the least protected category of the population - children from orphanages. And this story shows how much this policy is approved at the state level.
The international community should be aware of these facts; this is the only way to save our children.

Hong Kong activist Joshua Wong was sentenced to 10 years in jail for “colluding with foreign forces”.
He is the only activist known to have been convicted twice under Hong Kong's National Security Law. Imprisoned since the age of 24, he is not expected to regain his freedom until he is 40.
Joshua Wong’s bravery in speaking truth to power should be commended, but instead in Hong Kong it makes him a criminal.

Hong Kong democracy activist Joshua Wong has been sentenced to 10 years in prison on baseless national security charges.
Wong has been in custody since November 2020, when he was 23, and faces imprisonment until late 2036, when he will be 40.
To keep Hong Kong society subdued, the government appears to have adopted the tactic of stacking charges against influential pro-democracy leaders to ensure their prolonged detention.
