Several, but for example @neilphilipmyth's English Folktales, first version or most recent. Also reprints of classic Welsh and Scottish tales (Uni Wales Press, Senate). All worth dipping into.

For Scotland: The Lore of Scotland / Jennifer Westwood and Sophia Kingsmill. Uniform with The Lore of the Land / Westwood & Jacqueline Simpson which again covers England & is recommended; if there is a matching title for Wales I'm afraid I can't find it.

I've realised thinking about this that I do not know/can't remember many UK folk tales. Went down a Greek myths rabbit hole in lockdown, think I need to do some more local reading #OctoberOwls

In terms of symbolism, ‘meadowsweet’ is Garner referencing Blodeuwedd from The Mabinogion’s ‘Math Son of Mathonwy’. Being crafted from blossom, she was not of this world. Her beauty masked a darker side for which she was punished by being reformed into an owl. #OctoberOwls

I actually sketched this owl from The Lost Spells by @RobGMacfarlane and @JackieMorrisArt for my reading journal a couple of days ago. I hope that’s okay… #OctoberOwls

Under a near cloudless blue sky, the warm turquoise ocean lapped over their bare toes, inviting them in for a refreshing dip.
The volcanic shadow’s fingers grappled across the sand, reaching out to pull their next victim to the darkest depth of the vast ocean.

The hidden dinner service as symbolic of a family which does not dine together or gel together, further reinforced by the shattering of the plate. The family itself is a unit made of fragments which don’t cohere.

I haven't made a Xmas hoop bauble in AGES but the @ReadAlongs this half term has inspired me! Hoping to hang this one on our tree this year. If anyone else would like one just let me know- I don't have any green hoops left but I do have brown wooden ones! £5 plus postage
