Orionid Meteor Shower peaks tonight! Better viewing conditions the farther north & west you are in New England.
Boston to Providence and areas toward the Cape will see clouds and light showers late tonight. Take a peek at 3 to 5 am, when the 80% full moon sets & it's darkest.

ALT A graphic featuring text that reads: Official Statement. The Brewers’ return to the World Series for the first time in 44 years is a special moment for Milwaukee and sports fans across Wisconsin. Congratulations to the Brewers and the entire organization on this tremendous achievement, and we’ll be cheering them on as they begin their World Series run. The Bucks are proud to move our home opener to 3 p.m. in recognition of this historic occasion and thank the NBA for making this schedule change possible.

NEW: Huge layoffs across McClatchy newspapers today, with some newsrooms gutted by a third. An internal email from management says consumer revenue has dipped 41% and "we cannot continue investing where subscriber interest does not support the investment"
Months after billionaire David Hoffmann came to Lee Enterprises bearing a message of renewed investment in the chain, the company began laying off editors and copy editors at papers across the country.
While the scale of the recent layoffs appears to be much smaller than past rounds of mass cuts, they still raise questions:
