The most disturbing line in this apologism for the Zionism is Racism motion is when Green Party councillor @AlexiDimond speaks of "weaponisation of October the 7th".
The implication is that the atrocities committed by Hamas that day could somehow be justified. Otherwise, what would the "non-weaponised" version look like?
The Green Party has a fatal blind spot when it comes to recognising and acknowledging the magnitude of horror unleashed on 7 October. That is not to deny the war crimes subsequently committed by Israel and Netanyahu.
But the modern day Green Party seems to completely ignore the totalitarian character of Islamism and how, if Islamists had their way, Israel would simply cease to exist.
Do Greens have nothing to say about this existential threat to Jews and their homeland? Their Zionism is Racism motion helps to vindicate that extermination project. That's why I've called them the new useful idiots.
God forbid they are doing so knowingly instead. When they double down like this it's difficult for them to plead ignorance of antisemitic consequences.

Board of Deputies of British Jews declares Greens to be racist party
The Green Party of England and Wales has been declared a racist organisation by the Board of Deputies of British Jews.
The Jewish body, which is the largest in the UK, was responding to the "Zionism is racism" policy motion passed at the Green Party's conference earlier this month.
Board of Deputies president Phil Rosenberg said a vote passed by 118 votes to one to declare that the Greens had, "by adopting an antisemitic platform, become a racist party".
A spokesman for the Greens insisted the party does not discriminate against people who hold Zionist views and said it rejected the Board of Deputies' "characterisation of this motion and our party".
They added the decision "will not stop us from speaking out against the genocide in Gaza and pushing for stronger sanctions against the Israeli government and its leaders". Israel has repeatedly denied its actions in Gaza amount to genocide.
The motion passed by the Board of Deputies urged other parties not to do deals with the Greens unless they rejected the policy.

I would say calling Mehdi Hasan a journalist is stretching it a bit. I would go more for racist bigot, as those seem to be his go to phrase for anything he he can't argue with. I would trust Simon Schama's opinion and learned view any day, even if I didn't always totally agree.

"Lonna almost lost her life twice to the medications that were supposed to help her. This is her story, told in her own words, and I want to warn you now: it does not have a tidy ending. That’s exactly why it matters.
It began with symptoms her doctors refused to investigate. Her teeth chattered so violently at night that she bit through her retainer, and her neurologist told her it was just anxiety, that she’d been through a lot of trauma, that she was fine. The solution offered was a second retainer so she wouldn’t bite her tongue. Meanwhile, the prescriptions kept stacking, because every drug side effect was read as more anxiety, and the treatment for anxiety was another serotonin drug. By the end she was on twelve serotonin-affecting medications. Then she lost the ability to walk. Then to swallow. And in the ER, a hospital team finally told her the truth: you don’t have tardive dyskinesia, you have serotonin syndrome, and you’re about to die.
She survived. But her story isn’t over, and this is the part I most want you to hear. Today Lonna is on Klonopin, switched over from lorazepam two years ago, along with gabapentin and hydrocortisone. She has read about benzodiazepine-induced neurological dysfunction and she’s frightened it will happen to her. She has asked her psychiatrist, over and over: please help me, please get me off these drugs. The help hasn’t come. After everything this system did to her, it still won’t staff the exit.
Her message to you is the reason she came on: what happened to her was deeply unfair, and you must advocate for yourself. If you’re on multiple serotonergic medications and developing new physical symptoms like jaw clenching, tremor, rigidity, a racing heart, or confusion, do not accept 'it’s just anxiety' until someone has asked whether the medications could be the cause. Serotonin syndrome is a medical emergency. If it’s suspected, that’s an ER visit, not a journal entry."

Green councillors face Labour deadline to disown Zionism policy
Labour is set to decide whether to end power-sharing with Green councillors after demanding they disown their party's policy that Zionism is a form of racism.
The BBC has been told Green groups have been given until Sunday to respond to the demand, after which Labour's ruling National Executive Committee (NEC) will decide whether the party will continue with local deals to share power.
