Kayode Alabi

We resolved to set up a working group to look into all the issues of mutual interest and make recommendations for implementation by the two states in the interest of our people.

There’s an urgent need for the two states and traditional rulers across border communities to share intelligence while security agencies do joint patrols to curb criminal activities.

We also highlighted the increasing danger of hate rhetorics by non-state actors and its consequences for national cohesion. We resolved to act fast to end the spread of hate messages.

The meeting focused on the recent security breaches involving herders and local communities in Oyo State, the influx of displaced herders into Kwara State and the attendant socioeconomic and security issues.

Today, I led a delegation of state officials, traditional rulers and security commanders to Ibadan for a joint security meeting with my colleague, H.E Seyi Makinde, Governor of Oyo State, and his team.

I encourage other Kwarans to participate peacefully in the ongoing registration/revalidation exercise when it begins fully next Tuesday. We need increased mass political participation at the grassroots to ensure the right candidates are selected for the development of our state.

Today I was at Idi-Igba polling unit in Adewole Ward of Ilorin West local government to revalidate my membership of our great party, All Progressives Congress (APC).

Our state needs all the resources it can get to improve our human capital development. I believe our limited resources are better spent on tackling the question of poverty and youth unemployment.

In line with our campaign mantra and the yearnings of our people, next week I will be sending a bill to the State House of Assembly to revoke the law awarding pension packages to former governors and former deputy governors in Kwara State.

We are marching with the people to the Police Headquarters Ilorin to demand for a system that guarantees safety for all at all time and #endpolicebrutality

He is a dependable ally that is committed to the development of our state and the success of the administration. I pray God Almighty to continue to bless and protect him as we jointly commit to rebuild our dear state.

On behalf of my family, the people and government of Kwara State, I congratulate my deputy, His Excellency Mr Kayode Alabi, on his 57th birthday anniversary. He is a tolerant, easy going, and hardworking person.

With total submission to the will of the Almighty Allah, I announce the passing away of my father and a stateman, Alhaji AbdulGaniyu Folorunsho Abdul-Razaq SAN (OFR), at the age of 93. May Allah SWT grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.
