Knock out the ban on congressional stock trading in the lame duck session. Better to be late in doing the right thing than refuse to do the right thing.
Make sure it applies to the executive branch as well.

Exactly. Stories are to human beings as webs are to spiders. It's how we live and make the world sensible.
I don't know if it's true that "you are what you eat," but you DEFINITELY are the stories to read, hear, see, tell, appreciate, and give weight to.
Understanding that woke right culture warriors are just Disney Adults puts so many things into focus for me
The prequels, at the end of the day, are about a young man trying to claim what is rightfully his. And he’s treated with suspicion, contempt, or even outright hatred because of it.
He wants skill, power, influence, order, hierarchy etc. and isn’t afraid to tell people that. He kills the guilt that he used to feel for wanting what he should have.
It’s remarkable how relatable all of this actually is for many young men. Made to feel guilt for who or what they are. Denied what is rightfully theirs by birth. Villainized by a weak, corrupted, aging Republic that has long outlived its usefulness.
Fortunately, everyone seems to be on the same page on this. We’re going to reclaim what is ours.

This article is hot garbage and somehow worse than I expected.
It’s an actual hit piece with zero attempt at balance
The first quote is from Jeremi Suri who proclaims there is now “McCarthyism” on campus. This is the same Suri who called 40% of voters in ATX “racists” for voting for a pro LEO proposition. Also the same Suri who almost got arrested for mooning 🍑 APD. Totally unserious to use him as a source for anything
Then we hear from a Prof who believes Provost Inboden traffics in “White Supremacy” bc he rearranged some departments. 🙄
Then we get some quotes from Profs who left UT to go to places like
Michigan. Academics making lateral transfers to elite schools is a sign UT is strong, not weak. Academics do move around. And not a word on how many Profs are dying to come to UT!
There is not a SINGLE quote from a Professor saying things are good at UT. I’m sure @Forrest4Trees searched long and hard but couldn’t find anyone.
But the best part is Forrest has to grudgingly admit that UT is actually THRIVING under @JimDavis_UT !
Record applications ✅
Record admissions ✅
Record fundraising ✅
Elite brand recognition ✅
But of course the thinking goes all this may go away bc some Republicans have leadership positions
I get @TexasMonthly will always have a liberal slant on things but doing outright hit pieces with ZERO balance is gross
UT is thriving. 🤘🏼

When I see what's happening in France, all I see are the things Sartre wrote in the early 1960s.

Anger management, Aristotle edition.
Training one's character is noble work:
“Anybody can become angry—that is easy. But to be angry with the right person, and to the right degree, and at the right time, and for the right purpose, and in the right way, that is not within everybody’s power—that is not easy. And that is the reason why right doing is rare and praiseworthy and noble.”
