BlueChip. Built in America.
America made the first electronic computer to win a war.
Now we depend on our greatest adversaries to build the computers that run our economy and defend our nation.
Today, we bring it home.

Pro tip: always map the wells or other hazards.
One of my favorite 'whoops' stories from Afghanistan was losing a guy to a pit of darkness during a snap night raid. His team was up front to set up support by fire, my team was the assault element rolling the target up. He had a SAW and 1k rounds. During the movement in he fell into a well (they're just holes in the ground) and dropped about 30ft or so into the water. We pulled him out with the tube nylon runs we all carried.
He made it out, we still rolled the target up.
So MITRE just lied in their secret briefing document about it being cricket sounds? Crazy, I wonder what else they've published as official assessments that are just lies on behalf of another agency.
NEW: @C__Herridge shares exclusive details from her investigation of suspected directed energy attacks on U.S. soil, including six new cases of "Havana Syndrome" being treated at Walter Reed.

Hots&Cots has never been my full-time job. It’s been nights, weekends, and vacation days.
My day job has been almost 13 years at Microsoft, most recently as a senior iOS engineer. I’m part of this round.
So I’m open to two things:
* A full-time senior iOS role, building apps or the platforms behind them.
* Contract work. If you need an iOS, Android, or web app built end to end, that’s how I built Hots&Cots.
DMs are open. Hots&Cots isn’t going anywhere.
BREAKING: Microsoft, $MSFT, is offering buyouts to 60,000 workers as part of the company’s efforts to cut costs amid AI adoption, per Bloomberg.
Personnel on select teams in the US, Canada, India, and the UK at a vice president level and below will be eligible.
This reflects ~27% of Microsoft's total workforce.
Luckily the army trained me to live out of my alice pack in a desert surrounded by people who tolerated me at best for exactly 180 days at a time and said "make friends, dont die lol"

China was doing this publicly in 2022
Purdue University's IDEAS Lab built an autonomous drone that tracks runners through dense forests completely without GPS or cloud networks.
By running 3D LiDAR mapping and obstacle-avoidance AI entirely on-chip, it can weave under tree canopies and predict target movement through blind spots in real time.
Massive implications for next-gen search & rescue and edge AI.

Hey rock is this thing I'm noticing real?
"Recent survey work on political violence tolerance has sometimes shown women more willing than men to endorse extreme measures against political targets when the framing is moralized. The result looks like the most ardent enforcers and spies: the people most willing to monitor speech, flag deviations, and demand conformity.
It’s not universal but the average tendency is consistent enough that it appears across very different ideologies and eras. Online it is amplified because the costs of enforcement are near zero while the social rewards (status, belonging, moral credit) remain high. That’s the mechanism behind the pattern you’re seeing."

Most people treat every post on X as a fresh event that demands an instant reaction, which is exactly why so many get played by accounts that have already told them, in plain view, how to read the material. One recent example made the difference between raw information and an actual assessment obvious in seconds, and the habits that separate the two do not require a military background or special access. The six-minute read walks through the practical steps that turn a single post into a usable judgment instead of an emotional response.
