Seiya Suzuki has big fans in the Red Sox organization, per @ChrisCotillo. Would absolutely love that fit at Fenway Park. I wanted him so damn bad before he signed with the Cubs. Still remember the rumors out of Japan connecting him to the Red Sox.

Yesterday, we finally got to hear Alex Cora open about the Red Sox Red Wedding with @BBisntBoring and I had a bunch of mixed feelings about it. So, I wrote 2,500 words breaking it down. patreon.com/section10podcast…

“Back to Foulke, Red Sox fans have longed to hear it, the Boston Red Sox are World Champions.” 22 years ago tonight, the Curse of the Bambino was finally broken with a sweep of the Cardinals in the 2004 World Series.

8 years ago, a postseason hero was born when Nate Eovaldi came out of the bullpen in the 12th inning and threw 6 innings of 2-run ball in Game 3 of the World Series 👏 Rick Porcello called it the most incredible pitching performance that he had ever seen.

That Alex Cora conversation with @bradfo was a great listen. Seemed to really lock in on how tough it is to be a first time CBO/GM/POBO and have a manger already in place. Made it pretty clear he didn’t view himself as Breslow or Chaim’s guy, despite the extension or getting rehired in 2021. Not shocked to see him own up about some of his behavior after getting fired. While he said he’s not 100% sure about managing again (I still think he will), he seemed excited about going through the process. When that happens, you know this stuff is going to come up. Especially after not mixing well with back to back front office leaders. Cora’s comments about pitching costing him his job in the month of April jump out immediately. Is there truth to it? 100%. Was it also only a matter of time? Seems like it. Even Cora admits that Breslow wasn’t believing in the “program” at that point. Still, Breslow chose to give new deals to Cora, Fatse, Varitek, and Hudson. That’s on him and it’s reportedly why he’s limited when it comes to coaching staff hires this offseason. Showed a ton of love to Alex Bregman and really emphasized the importance of veteran leadership. Especially when it comes to shaping someone like Roman Anthony, who he still thinks will be a great player. One of Cora’s biggest lessons from this postseason? He would’ve started Connelly Early in Game 2 of the Wild Card series in 2025. While September was a rough ride for Bello, I don’t think many would have loved that decision in real time. Cora called collaboration a “two-way street” and highlighted how he has strong feelings and opinions about what goes on with his team. Believes disagreements are part of the process. Felt a bit like he was saying not everyone sees things that way.

Alex Cora admitted he acted “immature” after getting fired. Mentioned some comments and posts that he didn’t have to make. “Someone should say, take the phone away from this kid.” 🎥: @BBisntBoring
