After 29 years and more than 8.5 million miles in the sky—enough for nearly 18 round trips to the moon—Captain Wayne Erickson just landed his final flight.
On the Bozeman to Minneapolis trip, he stood in the aisle and told passengers it was his last one with Delta. A proud U.S. Air Force veteran who learned to fly (and fly upside down) four decades ago, he carried that same skill and dedication into every commercial flight. His son Brian captured the moment, and his family was on board with him. He spoke of gratitude—to the passengers, to Delta’s professionals, to the Air Force that shaped him, and to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
At the gate, the water salute and applause closed the chapter. From fighter jets to the Delta flight deck, thank you, Captain Erickson. Blue skies ahead.
