If you lost years to addiction, to survival mode, to just getting through the day —
Your body paid the price.
I know. Mine did too.
At 47 I picked up a weight for the first time in my life.
No background. No idea what I was doing. Just done waiting.
The Foundation Protocol is what I built from that moment.
A beginner weightlifting and nutrition program designed for men who have never trained before. Not men who fell off. Men who never started.
It comes with a free AI trainer on Telegram that tracks your weights, guides your nutrition, and shows up every single day even when motivation doesn't.
No gym intimidation. No bro science. No excuses.
Just the first real step.
It's free.
That's on purpose. Because the only thing standing between you and starting is starting.

In 3 weeks I head out on a 4 month road trip on my Vespa across Thailand.
What am I going to do? Things I enjoy: Muay Thai, gyms, national parks, beaches, scuba diving and whatever else I want to do because I own all of the scariest resource on the planet: my time.
I spent most of my life living other people’s expectations of me and it made me miserable.
I worked for local government for 23 years. Now I’ve decided to live the second half of my life on my terms. As a completely sovereign individual. 💪🏻🙏🏻🛵
Don’t know how I didn’t see it before.
The world desperately needs a Shane-McBride extremely R rated HBO Show
I keep seeing Millennials trying to claim this as their music.
I saw them open for Guns n Roses in high school. Siamese Dream came out when I was a freshman in college.
Smashing Pumpkins are a Gen X band and the way the combined grunge, emo and punk, they are arguably the most Gen X band.
Everything about this video is Gen X.
Released in 1996 as the second single from Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, “1979” became the Smashing Pumpkins' biggest American hit, reaching No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 on both the Modern Rock Tracks and Mainstream Rock Tracks charts. The album was eventually certified 10× Platinum in the United States. “1979” was almost left off the album: producer Flood gave Corgan a final deadline to complete the unfinished song or remove it from the record. Corgan went home, finished the lyrics that night, and returned the next day with a new demo that convinced Flood to keep it.
Billy Corgan wrote the track as a nostalgic reflection on adolescence and the transition into adulthood. Although the title refers specifically to the year Corgan was 12, the song is less a literal autobiography than an idealised reflection on what it felt like to be young.
Think about this a lot.
Optimism is more powerful than cynicism. Never let the doomers bring you down. 💪🏻👊🏼
Poverty in America - you only have a 48 inch flat screen tv and eat McDonalds for 3 meals a day.
Working in SE Asia: 90 degree heat in jeans for 12 hours a day, bring your lunch for 6 days a week and get paid $9/day.
Are you ready for our new AI robot overlords to steal your girlfriend?
Phuket is gearing up for the future.
I’ll be 52 in 2 months.
Am I the biggest person in the gym? Nope. Not even close.
Am I the best person in the Muay Thai gym?
Nope. Not even close.
Am I the best person in my yoga classes?
Nope. Not even close.
Am I the fastest person on my daily hill walks?
Nope. Not even close.
But if you add up consistency and good enough across multiple layers, you become one of the fittest 50 year olds on the planet.
perfect is the enemy of good. consistency is the closest thing to perfection, aim for that.
Crazy how something like this isn’t labeled AI generated (it is)
But I use AI and a Canva plugin to make a simple list using my own words and it gets labeled as AI generated.
Wild.
When I flew home to Chicago from Thailand in April I got lucky with “poor man’s first class” like this on 3 of the 4 of the legs.
Qatar Air has free Starlink too so was streaming video the entire time.
Peak poor man’s experience.
Trying to wire money from my American bank account to my Thai bank account.
But it was a holiday on Monday in America and holiday in Thailand today so banks have been closed.
So here I am, waiting. Seems like an antiquated system. Is there a permissionless way to send value instantly, 24/7?
People in 2026 are still shocked that institutional trust, particularly in the media and government, is crumbling by the day.
But I guess the other question is why weren’t we allowed to say what was painfully obvious? Is China our daddy?
If this would have happened in India, would we have been allowed to say the truth?
A new poll finds 40% of respondents believe in a baseless conspiracy theory that the coronavirus was created in a lab in China.
There is zero evidence for this. Scientists say the virus was transmitted to humans from another species.

Despite being an American citizen, I can’t activate X Money.
It tells me I have to turn off my VPN then tells me X Money is unavailable in Thailand.
If only we had a digital protocol that allowed for a borderless and permissionless way to transfer money……
Afraid of looking stupid at 50? Good. You’re allowed to be a beginner.
I’d rather look clumsy and miss a punch than miss another decade. Your comeback doesn't have to look pretty—it just has to start.
I used to think starting over at 50 meant I failed.
But staying somewhere just because you spent decades building it isn't success; it's sunk cost fallacy.
When you restart, you don't start from zero. You start from experience.
It’s never too late to rewrite your path. 💪🏻👊🏼
It’s easy to think your path is set, but you’re always one decision away from a completely different life.
At 45, I got sober.
At 50, I walked away from a 23-year career.
Today, I’m location-independent, living in Thailand, and in the best physical and mental shape of my life.
Riding into a horizon you built for yourself feels different. If you’re sitting there thinking it’s too late to restart, it’s not.
