BREAKING: Arizona Democrats win control of the state House, Senate and governor’s office for the first time since 1966, per the AP.
Gov. Katie Hobbs won reelection, and Democrats flipped both chambers of the Legislature. Republicans had controlled the House for 60 years and the Senate since the early 1990s.
Hobbs vetoed more than 540 bills from the Republican-led Legislature in her first term, on taxes, immigration and voting. With a Democratic Legislature, she’s pledged to focus on water, affordability, and fraud and abuse in the state’s school voucher program.
Arizona is one of at least six states where Democrats now hold full control, along with Michigan, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Nevada and Wisconsin.

The scene is now set for a titanic struggle on both sides of the American political divide. In the Democratic Party, centrists will struggle with anti-West, anti-Israel Muslims and leftists. That is exactly what El-Sayed just said, except about separating Jewish people from Judaism and its teaching and Israel.
Which, Jews have a right to be outraged by.
This is the paramount problem.

Israel is intertwined with Judaism. It’s not the same as Christianity and Islam. Israel is the central pillar of Judaism. You can never separate the two. One can not live without the other. Every prayer is connected to Israel. If you aren’t Jewish, you wouldn’t understand. And if you are Jewish and think it is not connected, you have probably never read the prayers or sat at the Seders.
Nobody will define our identity, but us. And us is the majority of Jews. Don’t tell US what Israel means to us. It isn’t just a country, it’s our heart.

This week’s overwhelming blue wave election sent a clear message: Americans are fed up with an administration that raises costs through chaotic energy policies and puts corporate polluters ahead of the public interest.
As the Senate considers a possible vote during the lame-duck session, Congressional Democrats have a mandate to deliver relief on energy bills and level the playing field for clean energy.
As written, this bill achieves critical wins on transmission and potential emissions reduction. But those wins do not justify abandoning Tribal consultation, clean water safeguards, and wildlife protections, nor further enabling a rogue president that is waging a war on clean energy.
The Sierra Club supports updating and expediting clean energy permitting. But Congress must demand fundamental changes to protect public health, Tribal sovereignty, the environment, and communities’ ability to challenge unlawful projects.
As Sierra Club Executive Director Loren Blackford said, “They can and must fight for a better deal.”
