Flame weeding is the process of passing a flame/fire over a weed briefly to heat the plant tissues just enough to kill them.
The goal is not to burn up the weed, but to destroy plant tissue so that the weed dies.

"Unlike herbicides, a flame weeder does not contaminate; it is environmentally safe & doesn't kill microorganisms in the soil. Users report significant increase in yield & Gogos points out that flame weeding is a “much, much cheaper” weed control method compared to herbicide use"

Burning weeds from the surface is totally ineffective for controlling them, obvious to anyone who's dealt with weeds as a charlatan, actually dopey propaganda gimmick. The remaining roots quickly grow back.

Weeds are out in full force in the garden! Your best offense, is a good defense:
1. Identify the weed
2. Remove by hand weeding, hoeing, tilling, covering, or flame weeding.
3. Prevent future weeds with mulch
