Almost 12k system libraries for PS5 on AnyPS5 discovered. Again, percent has dropped a lot - but the progress IS happening. Previously there way fewer libraries known, so the team are actually making great progress as they're adding to both implemented/discovered.

🚨FIRST EVER KERNEL BYPASS FOR 14.00/14.10🚨 Uncovered internal capability check bypasses in kernel handlers today. When targeting self (PID 0), sys 637 skips capability gating and writes a 64-bit value straight into kernel structures. Easily the biggest breakthrough yet!

SCOOP: Major U.S. banks are detecting unauthorized third-party AI agents inside customer accounts, including some attempting to take actions that appear to be independent of user instructions, sources told Axios. The findings have alarmed banking executives, who are racing to restrict access to their systems as AI moves at a velocity faster than financial institutions can respond, multiple industry and bank executives told Axios. Several banks are now preparing for worst-case and even “day after” scenarios, including how to rapidly secure or restore customer accounts if things go wrong, the people said. Several bank executives told Axios they're struggling to distinguish between human users and AI agents. One executive said banks also struggle to determine whether agents are authorized by customers or potentially operating without their permission, more akin to rogue agent behavior. Read my latest for Axios here: axios.com/2026/10/22/ai-agen…

SONY PATCHED THE PS5 IN 2 DAYS. HACKERS BROKE IT AGAIN IN 8 HOURS. Today’s PS5 firmware update, version 14.20, is already compromised. A hacker known as master_s9 just showed off an exploit for the brand-new firmware. The timeline: → An exploit was demonstrated on firmware 14.10 → Sony rushed out 14.20 two days later and closed the hole → Hackers cracked the new version in just 8 hours Sony is clearly trying to patch vulnerabilities fast. It didn’t matter. Every locked-down console eventually gets opened. The only question is how long Sony’s security can hold, and right now the answer is less than a day.

🚨NATIVE CODE EXECUTION CONFIRMED IN 14.10🚨 I found that real machine code (mov [rdi], rax; ret) executed live via thr_create(430) with custom CS=0x43 (Probe 156d). Bypassing Lua script interpreters to run native instructions brings us closer to a full jailbreak pipeline!

Hooooooly SHIT. I just came home to Lamb2k1 taking us from slideshow to PLAYABLE AND FUCKING GORGEOUS with his upcoming port of Resident Evil 4 to the Sega Dreamcast!!! GAAAAINZ!! Here's a direct hardware capture of me playing through to the starting cabin with the first enemy encounter... with settings enabled for high visual fidelity, such as 2x horizontal FSAA and far draw distance. Evidently Lamb2k1 and his audacious little clankers have been busy AF, starting with him telling them to redo all of the renderer and math in the port to use my SH4ZAM library to the fullest... which is funny, cuz I just made a few more micro gainz that I have yet to push for some of these commonly used matrix routines! BUT additionally, he's done some voodo such as: 1) Leveraging a special Katana-like "chunking" model format for the rooms. 2) Precomputing a lot of things up-front for room AI. 3) Culling WAY more aggressively than the GC or PS2 versions were doing. 4) Leon's jacket doesn't update as frequently anymore... lmao! There's still a LONG ways to go, and it slows down plenty under load, but... WHOAH.

Update: Ran all the tests in this video again, this time at 1080p Medium to ensure no VRAM limitations, and the results remained the same, with no real advantage for the 9060 XT over the 5060 in terms of shader compilation stutter. I did test Tiny Tina's Wonderlands as well, and there it did work, so it is supported on the 9060 XT and Intel platform. I am expecting a 9070 XT probably next week and I'll restest again with that, but I'm suspecting the games I tested here just dont see a noticeable improvement with AMD's Background Shader Compilation, even though the statement reads as "Extended support to UE5 games". Will confirm once the 9070 XT tests are completed.
After my less than stellar results in this video @HardwareUnboxed suggested I test with a 16GB VRAM GPU, or to try and alleviate some VRAM limitations to see if it makes a difference. I tested Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, and there it worked perfectly fine,so the feature works as expected on my system, at least for that game. I'll retest the games in my video at a lower resolution / texture settings to see if VRAM was indeed preventing the feature from working as it should in those titles, but I suspect it might be the culprit.
