On September 1, 1939, Germany launched an unprovoked invasion of Poland from the west, marking the beginning of World War II. Just over two weeks later, on September 17, 1939, the Soviet Union invaded from the east, fulfilling the secret terms of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact. Poland, surrounded by two totalitarian regimes, was crushed between two of the most ruthless war machines in history. Despite fierce resistance, Poland’s fate was sealed as its allies, Britain and France, remained largely inactive. Within weeks, the country was occupied and divided between Germany and the Soviet Union. What followed was nearly six years of unimaginable hell. The Polish people endured mass executions, forced labor, deportations, and systematic extermination under both occupiers. By the summer of 1945, approximately six million Polish citizens, 17.1% of the pre-war population had perished and it would take generations to recover and rebuild and in fact, it’s still dealing with the trauma. This staggering loss, one of the highest per capita of any nation in World War II, transcended distinctions of nationality, religion, or race. The Germans carried out the Holocaust on Polish soil, while the Soviets executed mass deportations and massacres, such as the Katyn massacre of Polish officers. This catastrophic loss of life is a testament to Poland’s suffering and resilience. Despite the devastation, the Polish spirit endured. Resistance movements continued to fight throughout the war, while ordinary people displayed extraordinary courage and selflessness, often risking their own lives to protect their neighbors. Poland’s experience remains a crucial reminder of the horrors of totalitarianism and the true cost of war.
On 1 September 1939, the German Army invaded Poland from the west, starting WW2. On 17 September 1939, the Soviet Union invaded from the east, fulfilling the Ribbentrop-Molotov Pact. Poland was trapped between two ruthless war machines. By the summer of 1945, around six million Polish citizens, 17.1% of the pre-war population, had been killed. This figure is based solely on citizenship, not nationality, religion, or race.

In China, rental agreements are legally binding contracts, and tenants are generally required to continue paying rent regardless of their employment status. There are no provisions in Chinese law that automatically reduce or eliminate rent obligations due to job loss. mondaq.com/china/landlord…

Thanks to American TikTok refugees, I've learned a lot of new things and felt terrible about perpetuating stereotypes about the working class in the United States. What an idiot I was to assume that those who are homeless and addicted to drugs just don't put in the necessary effort. Today, I saw a video of an American lady having an emotional breakdown after learning about the ordinary Chinese people's life, crying because, as a single mother, she has been working multiple jobs and 60 hours per week, with insufficient resources to sustain herself and her children. Even more repulsive to me is capitalism, which keeps the wealthiest people in power while destroying the lives of the most honest and hardworking citizens. I have no grounds to judge or sympathize with the Americans. My country is still the largest developing nation, and many poor people are working hard to improve their lives. Just like every other country, China has its share of problems. Still, it breaks my heart to watch the plight of those good, honest, working-class Americans. Things are not supposed to be this way.   A lot of people want to know my favourite thing about China. My answer is poverty alleviation. Almost 800 million people, or over 75% of the world's poor, have been pulled out of poverty in China during the previous 40 years. One of the worst things that can happen to a person is to be poor because being poor takes away their hope, dignity, and future. The fact that China is helping its poorest citizens warms my heart; here's hoping the same may happen in the United States.

We strongly disagree with President Duda's remarks about dividing Russia into 200 ethnic states. 🇵🇱 Here is our appeal: 1️⃣ We call for caution: Poland's foreign policy should be based on dialogue, not conflict. 2️⃣ Poland should promote stability and international cooperation, not division. 3️⃣ Our history shows the importance of sovereignty and borders. We cannot ignore these values. President Andrzej Duda , we ask for diplomacy that aligns with our values and citizens' desires! 🌍🕊️ #Diplomacy #PeaceNotWar

Capitalism has destroyed the family unit by (1) forcing parents into the workplace for 80-120 hrs/wk, (2) making basic human needs unaffordable, (3) forcing debt on all, and (4) equating human worth with $. Generations of children are left on their own to navigate this toxicity.

$61.4 billion MORE for Ukraine $14.3 billion for Israel $7.4 billion for Taiwan …while Americans have to set up a GoFundMe to have life-saving medical care. How can anyone in their right mind think this is normal? It’s fucking obscene.

“Access” is the magic word in every politician’s vocabulary that allows them to spout their bullshit. “Access” to food “Access” to housing “Access” to healthcare “Access” is meaningless if you don’t have enough money to “access” anything while price gouging soars.
