Bonkers stat for you. Since the league started tracking hits in 2005-06, Michael Brandsegg-Nygård is the first NHL player to have 69+ hits and 10+ points in his first 15 games of a season.

That’s right. The ask just went UP! Why? Because we’d rather watch him burn his own career on the couch, making $0, than take a “fair” return.

Dylan Larkin is quitting on his teammates yet again and teammates AGAIN. Suspend him without pay and hold firm. Make a trade when the deal is right for the @DetroitRedWings and not until then! #LGRW

Larkin wants credit for showing up to work while under a contract he signed, and is now playing the victim for not being traded to a small list of teams he’s handcuffed the Wings into negotiating with. League desperately needs to address this in the next CBA. Simple fix… A player waives any trade protection in their contract if they: (a) formally request a trade (b) refuse to report to work while under contract

Statement from Pat Brisson, agent for Dylan Larkin, regarding his client deciding not to play while awaiting a trade: “Dylan’s had enough of the situation. We believe he’s been very professional and cooperative through this process.”

So, to recap the Larkin situation, this year he has: - Said he wants to be a Red Wing for life - Missed the playoffs again (scored one even strength goal after the Olympics btw) - Demanded a trade (but only to the top 3 US contenders) - Lost the captaincy - Begrudgingly showed up to camp (but wouldn't *really* answer any questions & got "injured) - Decided to play & said his focus was on winning games - Expanded his trade list (to the top 10 US contenders) - Publicly quit on his team for a second time Missing anything? Seems like a really easy guy to root for

There were talks in the the last 24 hours between Larkin's camp and the Red Wings, both last night and again this morning, and what was communicated from the agents to Detroit was that Larkin feels he's given the team ample time since his trade request in May to get a deal done. Larkin has had enough, so decision was made he won't play tonight nor for foreseable future hoping a trade materializes. Fluid situation still. Red Wings circling back to teams with interest, etc., as talks escalate.

It’s possible the Red Wings suspend Larkin. If that’s the case, and a trade isn’t imminently made, Larkin would forfeit $41,237.11 each day.
