Exactly. Not to mention two of the remaining three are on crazy wages and the other can barely stay fit.

Spot on. Down the line we'll need Araujo at RB and CB, but as far as a fully fit best balanced XI then Dom edges Araujo at RB for me and he holds next up as a CB behind Jacquet and Virgil.

Well if we learned anything tonight it's that Nyoni is our most valuable CM alongside MacAllister. Wirtz to complete the trio and Dom back in at RB and we're in good shape. Renew Virg, but the rest of the Dutch lads can go, they aren't bad players they're just not up to it.

Endo and Fede need to get the hint and leave in Jan. It's embarrassing at this stage.

That's for you to decide.

The guys who are so pro-Iraola are now bed wetting and demanding 7 changes at HT to beat a full strength Chelsea in the Carabao Cup. Interesting.

Exploiting the momentum of Brighton’s transition from man-marking to zonal marking, with excellent timing in taking advantage of the unfolding situation. Liverpool disrupts Brighton’s defensive structure through coordinated movement. Isak drops deep to receive from Kerkez, drawing Vuskovic out of position. Gakpo makes an inward run, while Kerkez stretches Gomez horizontally. On the far side, Wirtz occupies two defenders, while Gravenberch pulls Pascal Groß away, preventing him from stepping into the newly opened space to cover it. Crucially, Isak doesn’t return to his nominal position but stays on the same vertical line as Gakpo, exploiting the disruption. Gomez abandons Kerkez to compensate, but it’s already too late. Liverpool capitalises on the brief moment when Brighton’s defensive structure is caught between man-marking responsibilities and zonal assignments #LFC

Yeah makes sense to protect Trey while giving minutes still. Likewise w Wirtz coming off bench for McConnell. Get them mins but also resting them.

Trey for Grav at 60 or so would work. Grav better fitness right now so starting him more sense and stability.

Same. I probably would have done a Endo McConnell Grav midfield and then used Trey off the bench. I don't see the point in him or Fede if we aren't going to at least use them to help us rotate. And yes you are correct, McConnell breakthrough game was v Chels

Strong team. Would have got Endo and Chiesa in there to start so we can rest other legs, but solid rotation regardless.
Come on you Reds ✊🔴

Yeah you're right. I think Virg likes to play though, so that's why I put him there. McConnell for Trey would be good. Then swap Trey for Grav at 60 mins get both some minutes without overdoing it.

The XI I'd like to see vs Chelsea: Mamar, Araujo, Gomez, Virg, Chambers, Endo, Nyoni, Grav, Fede, Koumas, Rio

No coins here mate, but it is an engagement platform, so if not that then why else are we here.

Yeah it's quite odd. It allowed BHA to have relative success down our left side, and exposed Kerkez quite a bit (at times he was 1v3) which had knock on affect in pulling Virg out of position too.

If you don't care to have productive dialogue or have an interest in opinions regarding the games then why are you here? I never said a thread would do anything, so your asinine Q was met with the same energy. Keep responding though, we'll take the visibility on the algorithm mate, cheers.

It was the same. It was so bad it would have been a borderline pile-on. I thought I was the only one. The whole LHS dynamic was bizarre. Neither high, nor low, nor wide, nor pinched- weird off the ball positioning. On the flip side, he did manage to be used on the break (a lot) in the 2nd half so maybe that was the whole plan?
