Just reminding you about what happened recently and everyone conveniently forgot, when AI fics became so popular that they almost landed book deals. It was never about you or the quality of your writing, dear writers, so don’t pay any attention to that shit.
In the current discussion, the saddest thing for me isn’t the readers’ attitude, but the fact that some writers are trying to please the crowd and make themselves look better—something I haven’t seen in the book world, unlike in fanfiction. Writers always support one another,

So. Anthropic stole my books. Then it got caught. It didn't say sorry. It was ordered to pay for what it stole. Then it said, well, the writers have to tell us what we stole. – at McKenna, WA
To be honest, I don't even know whether to laugh or cry over the fact that my most beloved work, into which I poured nearly two years of tears, sweat, and hard work, was slapped with a 19-buck price tag just like that. It's so disgusting that I just want to wash myself
All my fics are there, and I'm not even a popular author. I knew it wouldn't stop at public google drives.

So, in light of recent discussions, readers expect that: 1. The fanfic writer will improve their skills. 2. Once the writer has improved their skills and posted their work, they shouldn’t expect anything positive, and the work doesn’t belong to them. Don’t ask where the logic is.

It's funny that yesterday I was reading olrufrey fic where there was yearning in the first chapter, and in the next one - which I was planning to read today - they were supposed to be together. This is going to be the longest slowburn of my life.😆😆😆
We estimate that service restoration for #AO3 will take around 2 weeks but it could be up to 4 weeks. We are hopeful that we will be able to bring the site back up in a degraded state sooner. Refer to our status page for updates: otwstatus.org/

Actually, this is good. People who’s like “I use ao3 every day but I’d NEVER donate” and “authors SHOULD—” or “I don’t read WIPs and I don’t comment or leave kudos”, etc etc etc, can use this time from reflection
Anyway, thank you ao3 volunteers, you are awesome
