If current ABS check swing rules (as used in parts of MiLB) were in place this would not have been a swing.

That’s certainly not a swing with the minor league swing challenge system. Update: it might be closer than I originally thought it would be close.

We all love the outliers. Two-way players. Switch pitchers. But that's really hard to do in pro baseball, as Jurrangelo Cijntje has found. @GeoffPontesBA explains what that could mean for 2027. baseballamerica.com/stories/…

I think the obvious candidates are Casey Chenoweth and Brandon Allen. Externally: Will Bradley (TB assistant hitting coach) (Waterloo, IL native) (former SLU coach) Matt Borgschulte (WSH current hitting coach) (STL native) (Mo St graduate)
First I love how Katie’s side hustle is breaking Cardinals news at this point. Second off, will be interesting to see if an internal promotion is coming for St. Louis or if someone new will be brought into the org.

According to his Instagram the Cardinals have hired Ricky Rivera to be an Assistant Field Coordinator. Rivera previously worked in the Astros organization, where last year he was their AA manager.

Tekoah Roby is a really smart pitcher, you should definitely read this article and give his interview a listen. Has a plan and understands himself and who he is as a pitcher really well.
After undergoing Tommy John last year, @Cardinals prospect Tekoah Roby returned to action in the Fall League on Oct. 9 -- and he didn't disappoint. Go behind the scenes with Roby as he breaks down all of his 5 pitches in the MLB Pipeline Pitching Lab: atmlb.com/4yzYCY3

News out of St. Louis: The Cardinals have parted ways with hitting coach Brant Brown, but expect to retain the majority of the major-league coaching staff for next season. nytimes.com/athletic/7715360…

I see a lot of people talking about Alec Bohm and Steven Kwan as two potential Cardinals acquisitions this offseason. For Bohm, I just don't see how he's a better alternative than just giving Saggese or Blaze Jordan runway till hopefully, Jesus Baez is ready. He's been ok offensvily over his career, but going from Citizens Bank to Busch Stadium has me worried about the offense, and we all know he's well below average defensively, and the clubhouse stuff could be a turnaway for the Cardinals. For Kwan, it comes down to a year of control; I don't think the Cardinals are going to trade away significant assets for one year of Kwan, and I'm not sure I want to pay for the 30s of a guy with little bat speed or quality of contact. If I'm the Cardinals, I probably just let those positions play out considering the names on the market this offseason, and focus most of my financial resources on pitching.
