Sitting in the shade testing my reaction times by photographing swifts but - is it possible that this swift's right wingtip can produce a tiny vapour shock vortex like an aircraft manoeuvring at an airshow? @Birduder344 as a man of science any comment? Humidity rather high !
Stone curlew in West Suffolk today. A 'local' wader and always a joy to see, a right pain to photograph though!
A few birds from @SWTLackfordLake near Bury St Edmunds yesterday. I saw 42 species which was a good haul and it was great to be out in the sun.

I'm glad so many of you are enjoying the skeins! These are pink-footed geese, flying towards their roost on the Solway Firth. They'll spend the winter around here in D&G. I wrote a book for @eandtbooks about geese that you might also like stephenrutt.com/wintering/

The @RSPBScotland Mersehead natterjack toad chorus. Plus the toad itself, tadpoles and spawn (the warden is a license holder)
Last Saturday I went to @RSPBFrampton and saw 59 species, it was the best birding day I've had for a few years. Lesser yellowlegs, little gull, black tern, RB Goose. Just stunning. Big thanks to the chap from Caroline's driving school who pointed out the yellowlegs to me.
