Collection team picked up 2 tonnes of scrap REE permanent magnets that were from electric motors today that will be recycled in our demonstration plant in 1Q 2026.
The Trump administration has the vision to see the USA and its allies cannot depend on China anymore for critical materials and the courage to act.
Rasmus and JC are honored to have been invited to DC to share REEcycle’s mission to help rebuild the ex-China REE supply chain
Hard drives contain small REE magnets, but the challenge is getting them out safely and efficiently so they usually end up in landfills or exported to China as scrap.
Fortunately, REEcycle has the solution.
Coming soon to a data center near you:
We’re back in action: REEcycle is restarting our demo plant to produce domestic magnetic rare earth concentrate after closing a successful capital raise. 🇺🇸♻️

REEcycle has an impressive hard drive disassembly machine. It can sort and separate over 4,000 drives/day. This increases the recycle value & eliminates many issues caused by shredding.

The EPA's tailpipe rule requiring automakers to build #EVs will make the US almost wholly dependent on China for the #NdFeB magnets needed to make those vehicles.
This is bad policy.

“There are now more emerging #rareearthmagnet recyclers than ever before, several starting to produce at scale & with significant commercial traction."

In fact, molecules within magnets move slower because they have less kinetic energy so there is less vibration within the magnet’s molecules. This allows for a more concentrated magnetic field that strengthens the magnet.

Replying to @CommerceGov
@CommerceGov found #NdFeBmagnets threaten national security, but didn't recommend tariffs.
Pres. plans to invest in domestic production to reduce reliance on non-allied countries.
Future review possible. Recycling rare earths is crucial for security. rb.gy/yoj6a
