Final day with ⁦@ReedsSchool battlefields ⁩tour. Fine group of boys getting to grips with the grand sweep of history and the stories of individuals not not much older than themselves.

Outside classroom is proving a success for 3rd form as they learn about the Somme. iPads are out in the bus to record and reflect.

Immersive experiences you just can’t get in the classroom. Standing in the sunken lane really brings the Somme offensive to life.

Great start yesterday but day 2 on the Somme looks to be a corker for ⁦@ReedsSchool⁩ 3rd form. ⁦@AngliaTours⁩ guides bringing history to life. Great weather, good questions and #curiosity from the students.

First stop for the 3rd form ⁦@ReedsSchool⁩ on their history trip includes a visit to our OR Hugh Broughton’s grave. An orphan with no surviving family - we will remember him.

Sun has come out for the 1st and 3rd form trip to Thorpe Park. Great reward for all their hard work.

1st Form are coming home!! Smooth journey so far. Should be back between 5:15 and 5:30pm. I’m sure parents and guardians will be as delighted to see them as we were to have them with us this week.

Last activities and a picnic lunch to finish. On our way home! Should be back a little after 5pm at current traffic conditions.

All our 1st form activities in the last 3 days involved some kind of team work and collaboration. Social skills, leadership and support all in evidence. Success is sweeter when it’s shared.

What a great end to day 2 of the 1st form trip. Fantastic beaches of Norfolk make for a great evening walk.
