If you have ever stepped foot in the halls of Memorial High School, you know the feeling. The pride. The belonging. The understanding that you are part of something bigger than yourself. That feeling was built 100 years ago, and every student, parent, alumnus, educator, and supporter since has helped carry it forward. What was started for us on Lincoln Avenue is now in our hands. Those who came before us built something worth carrying forward. They guided us. They taught us. They gave us the skills to succeed. And for 100 years, each generation has been given something by Memorial, with the responsibility to leave something behind for the generation that follows. Now, that responsibility belongs to us. As we enter the closing stages of our Centennial Campaign, we are asking the Memorial community to come together and help carry this tradition forward. In the coming weeks, we’ll share what the Centennial Campaign has already made possible, the projects taking shape today, and what still lies ahead. But first, we remember why we started. Because the next 100 years of Memorial will be shaped by what we build together. And 100 years from now, when another Tiger walks these halls for the first time, we want them to know that feeling too.Your gift today is for the Tigers of tomorrow. Join us in the Centennial Campaign and help carry the tradition forward. Give today: tinyurl.com/3y7xs4ba

Congrats to three of our students who passed their exam for their FAA Part 107 Drone Pilot license! Working with X-Cell Aviation Flight Training Center, our students were well prepared and flew through the exam. Our students will now move onto phase two, where they will head to the airport for flight time and prepare for their Private Pilot written exam in the coming months! Eyes on the skies for these future pilots…

Be a Teacher Day at USI! 🍎📚 Yesterday, Memorial students had the opportunity to visit the University of Southern Indiana for its "Be a Teacher Day" workshop! Throughout the day, students explored USI's Teacher Education programs, heard from a K-12 education panel, connected with current college students, toured campus, and experienced what it's like to be in the classroom! Opportunities like these play an important role in the formation of our students by allowing them to explore their interests, discover their strengths, and gain a better understanding of the career paths available to them. Thank you, University of Southern Indiana, for welcoming our students!

At Reitz Memorial High School, our Holy Cross tradition is more than just a part of our history. It is a part of who we are today. As we wrap up our first trimester in a couple weeks and head into Fall Break, we want to remind our Memorial community of the faith, hope, and values that guide us each day. The Brothers of Holy Cross left behind a legacy that continues to shape Memorial, reminding us to be witnesses of hope in all that we do. As we take this time to rest and recharge, may we continue to carry the Holy Cross tradition with us wherever we go. Happy Fall Break, Tigers! 💙

Senior Day of Service at Memorial High School! This past Friday, our seniors spent the day giving back through various service projects throughout the Evansville community! Service is one of our core values here at Memorial, and days like these are a reminder of what it truly means to be a Tiger. Our students had the opportunity to put their faith into action, serve others, and proudly represent the values we strive to live out each day. We are grateful for the faith-filled education that encourages our students to make a difference beyond the classroom and in our community. Thank you to our seniors for giving your time, serving others, and showing our community what it means to be a Tiger! #MoreAtMemorial #SeniorDayOfService

And of course, they wouldn’t be Holy Strombolis without a blessing! 🙏 Our President, Deacon Josh, stopped by to bless our booth. Thank you, Deacon Josh! Each year, more than 1.5 million high school juniors take the PSAT/NMSQT, with only a small percentage earning recognition through the National Merit Scholarship Program for their exceptional academic performance. Congratulations to Reagan Engbers, Elizabeth Frazier, and Thomas Pope on being named National Merit Commended Scholars, placing them among the top-performing students nationwide! We are also proud to congratulate Eleni Scordalakes on being named a National Merit Semifinalist, an honor earned by approximately the top 1% of students. Eleni now has the opportunity to advance to National Merit Finalist status. Congratulations to these outstanding members of the Reitz Memorial Class of 2027!

Fr. Forler and President Deacon Josh Reising recently traveled to Notre Dame for the Heads of School and Board Chair Meeting for the Congregation of Holy Cross, joining leaders from fellow Holy Cross schools to strengthen the shared mission that guides our communities. During the visit, Fr. Forler had the special opportunity to concelebrate Mass at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart with Fr. Bill Lies, C.S.C., Provincial Superior of the U.S. Province of the Congregation of Holy Cross. The trip concluded at the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes, where leaders gathered for a prayer service dedicated to their schools. As part of this special moment, Fr. Forler and President Deacon Josh lit a candle representing Reitz Memorial High School — offering prayers for our students, faculty, staff, alumni, families, and the entire Memorial community. One candle among many, representing the many Holy Cross schools united by a shared faith and mission. We are proud to carry that Holy Cross mission with us here at Memorial each and every day.

Let’s finish what we started. Together. As we approach the final stretch of our Centennial Capital Campaign, there are two words we want to say first: thank you. Thank you to every alumnus, parent, grandparent, friend, faculty member, and supporter who believed in what this campaign could mean for Memorial. Your generosity has already transformed our campus and helped prepare our school for the generations that will follow us. We have accomplished so much. But there is still work to be done. An Athletic Pavilion. A new Health Sciences Center and Athletic Training Lab. Air conditioning for our main gym. An expanded Resource Program. Continued classroom improvements. These are more than improvements to buildings. They are investments in our students, our teachers, and Memorial’s future. One hundred years ago, others built something for us. Throughout this campaign, our Memorial family has answered the call to carry that tradition forward. Now, as we near the finish line, we are asking you to help us finish what we started. Every gift, no matter the size, helps move us closer to completing this vision and building something that will make a difference in the lives of Memorial students for generations to come. Let’s finish strong. Let’s finish together. Make your gift to the Centennial Capital Campaign today: tinyurl.com/3y7xs4ba
