most people now realise #Brexithasfailed. So the question now is what we do about it. Full marks to @andyburnham for not running away from the issue
⏰ For six years since Britain left the Single Market, I’ve been waiting for a Prime Minister prepared to explain why we may have to go back in.
Because of food security, energy security, investment, supply chains and national resilience.
You cannot build a serious food-security strategy while putting permanent barriers between Britain and its largest neighbouring food market.
You cannot talk about sovereignty while becoming more dependent on fragile global supply chains for food, fuel and fertiliser.
And you cannot repair Brexit properly while refusing even to discuss the obligations that come with deeper European integration.
At last we have a Prime Minister @andyburnham prepared to start giving the country some of the hard truths 👏
This conversation is long overdue.

It's like he has a problem controlling what comes out of his mouth.
The problem with trying to be all things to all people is that people notice the contradictions.
Burnham says UK's Brexit deal isn't 'good enough' but won't push to rejoin EU

Brexit is finally toast!
Let's wait for the EU to outline its accession terms in November and if acceptable, have a GE based on Brexit, then trigger Article 49!

Brexit xenophobes are getting desperate. They can see the tide is turning.
Since Brexit, the NHS has received far more than an extra £350 million a week.
Now seems a good time to remind everyone, given a picture of the famous Brexit bus is doing the rounds again.
Disinformation is discussed a lot, but claims that pledge wasn’t fulfilled are among the biggest lies you see online.

Burnham blames Britain’s migrant crisis on Brexit, arguing that leaving the EU had left the UK with “weaker control”. apple.news/AxueFnctAT62GlHEU….

Not necessarily. A mandate in a manifesto at a general election would do it.

Is it just me or is this place dead as a dodo at the moment?
Feels like fewer and fewer people are posting.
Even the trolls and bots are low and lacklustre. 🧌

Dear Mr @andyburnham,
We need a snap election now.
Put it in the manifesto.
Start rejoining in January.
Complete by December 2027.
Done.

Why give them the oxygen of publicity? Just ignore them. Focus on the goal - #RejoinNow - and the people who have the power to make it happen (clue: and that's not Farage).

Shout it from the rooftops - we need to #RejoinNow, and that includes free movement. #ExitBrexit therejoineuparty.com/tell-yo…

There are many Conservative voters who will vote to rejoin and if necessary support Burnham.

But the economic boost to the UK as a whole of rejoining the EU would be £150bn, Goldman Sachs says, which would put more money in people's pockets and likely offset any effect on wages of greater labour flexibility - which in itself would encourage firms to employ more people.

Housing Secretary Angela Rayner says we need to have a “honest conversation” about the trade offs of re-joining free movement with the EU and then “put that to the people at a general election”
