Ladies and gentlemen, two days ago, @AndrewMwenda claimed that Muhoozi Kainerugaba is Uganda’s most popular person and that Ugandans want him to become president. Popular for what, Andrew? Before awarding the trophy, where is the evidence? Where are the polls? Then the internet dug up an old video of Muhoozi delivering a speech in Mbale. My goodness! The cap was going through more changes than a government policy under pressure. On, off, on again! And those unexpected smiles? At some point, you begin wondering whether the cap is the assistant spokesperson! Jokes aside, political leadership requires more than a uniform, military rank and armed escorts. Commanding soldiers is one thing; commanding an audience with your words is another. One awkward speech does not prove someone is unpopular. But if you are going to declare someone Uganda’s most popular man, surely the public is entitled to ask for evidence. Andrew, before handing Muhoozi that imaginary trophy, please explain how popularity is being measured. If it is based on the number of armed escorts, we may need a completely different category! And @mkainerugaba, next time you address a crowd, please give that cap a break. It has already worked overtime! Ladies and gentlemen, watch the speech and tell me: was that a presidential address, or was the cap trying to stage a coup against the speech? YouTube - youtu.be/HVgbU8Y7lDs

One Ugandan, paid with money collected from Ugandans in various forms to run this country, and equipped with guns, uniforms and other gear purchased with Ugandans’ money, is using those resources to abduct and torture Ugandans, then gloating about how he will kill more Ugandans, torture them and make them disappear. Other Ugandans are saying, “Look, this Ugandan is a threat to us as Ugandans. He is destroying a fundamental part of our social contract, in which the people entrust a few individuals with the power to govern the country.” We must not forget that when this power is abused, Ugandans have the power to take it back. Fundamentally, power belongs to the people. The question to answer is not whether I used a phone line registered in my mother’s name rather than mine. That is merely a decoy. The real question is whether some Ugandans are considered more Ugandan than others. Are we saying that when some people’s opinions do not prevail, they must be abducted, tortured or killed? If anyone agrees with that, I would consider them a cabbage. Only a cabbage could think that way and find pleasure in abducting, torturing and killing fellow Ugandans. The past fortnight and a few days have been trying, but they have not broken me. Instead, they have strengthened my courage. I have drawn strength from your solidarity and support, which have encouraged me to believe that the future of this country is not as broken as we might imagine. There is still a flicker of hope, and if we find the right way to nurture it, our country will ultimately be set free. I reiterate, without fear, that Uganda is not a monarchy. The people of Uganda deserve a say in the transition of their country, and fear must never be used as a tool to silence them or shut them up, especially at a time when their voices matter most. I once again express my gratitude for your support. And I must say that, contrary to what they expected, **I will not go quiet. I will not keep silent. I will not flee into exile out of fear. I will stay until the very end.** We are going to defend this country, as provided for under Article 3 of our Constitution. When the Constitution is abused and the rule of law gives way to the rule of an individual, we have a constitutional duty to resist and defend our Constitution and our country. In doing so, we shall not be breaking the law; we shall be exercising our constitutional mandate. The struggle continues, and we shall prevail over fear. The demand remains: Arrest Muhoozi and free all political prisoners Thank you, comrades. Thank you, fellow Ugandans.

I totally agree with Lt. Mabonga when he says the UPDF is not the national army it was supposed to be, but a Museveni and his tribesmen’s army. Look at those being given military titles, starting with the CDF, Muhoozi, Museveni’s son. He is not the CDF because of meritocracy, but because he is Museveni’s son.

That holding the torture stick is the lady "Otangalo" whose voice you all heard commanding the torture of that tiktoker for abusing Muhoozi—Museveni's son, and being vulgar to other tiktokers in northern Uganda. Recall that the tiktoker was first abducted, also I still emphasize that foot whipping torture technique used is the falanga (or falaka) and bastinado, one that is well documented by several human rights watch organizations including @unhrcpr @UHRC_UGANDA clearly showing that this tiktoker was commending military men in that torture chamber. Then @norbertmao will still blame @adoniaayebare solely for derailing @Olara_Otunnu 's campaign at the @UN 😒 yet these are the things for which we are internationally known as a country

We should be reminded that the prison cell in Luzira or anywhere in Uganda, the dungeon in Dar es Salaam or the illegal safe house in Nairobi are all part of the same wall, the wall built and used by those who fear the power of the people. #FreeAllPoliticalPrisoners #AfricaUnite #PASNet

ENTEBBE: Police in Entebbe this afternoon rescued a newborn baby girl from a deep pit latrine in Abaita Ababiri, after a multi-hour operation. Officers responded to an urgent call from residents who heard cries coming from the latrine. Rescuers dug through the structure for several hours to reach the infant safely. She was rushed to Entebbe Regional Referral Hospital, where she is receiving specialised treatment and monitoring. Police have opened an investigation and are searching for the mother. #NTVNews 📷Ivan Kamana
