Here I am with my successor, Zulfiqar Darr, who has been appointed interim chief executive.Congratulations and good luck to Zulf in his new role.
I became a chief executive in 1991 in @Oadby_Wigston where I stayed for 15 years, before becoming CEO of @broxtowebc in 2006. Tomorrow is my last day before I retire. What a privilege it is to serve communities in local government.I have loved it.
My friends in the Beeston Muslim Centre gave me this beautiful vase and flowers today. They are such lovely people.❤️
The Broxtowe creates festival kicks off with this very creative little video!

Behind every successful event there’s a fleet of unsung heroes who work so hard to support , enable and clean up. Always with unfailing willingness to help. I am so grateful for all you do.
Spare a thought for James. Not only has he masterminded the ferrying backwards and forwards of equipment needed for the election from dawn to dusk but as a scout leader he’s now organising thousands of tents in a field in Newark. One of our best. #norest
Thank you to @ZurichMunicipal for delicious coffee most efficiently and professionally served at #solacesummit23 and valuable funds raised for that great charity @FareShareUK .It’s what we value from your company: good service, values we share, and great ideas.
#SolaceSummit23 @gibsongav yesterday mentioned “Wilful Blindness” .Here’s my notes. It’s a very important book for everyone in leadership in local government.
