Interesting to see how oil exporter economies have performed since the oil price crash in 2014:
Russia (up 5%) beating oil exporting peer Saudi (-9%),
Nigeria (-11%) beating African peer Angola (-25%),
Canada (up 2%) beating Iran (-2%) - not sure they're exact peers

I've been struggling to understand why Nigeria would spend $2bn getting a Portuguese firm to build a railway line (Kano to Maradi in Niger) to one of the poorest nations on earth. This story suggests politics and oil from Niger to Katsina is part of it

@RenCap economist Sofya Donets has been on the right side of consensus forecasts in 2020 .. back in July looking for -3.3% GDP fall in Russia's GDP in 2020 when most were looking for -5%
We've shifted by -0.4pp to -3.7% .. consensus had to move 3 times more by +1.1pp to -3.9%
