We never claimed we were the first people to do this but we may have been the first to use a bike seat bag and a bocce ball

RFK: “There's 500 million Arabs in the world, and yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Nobel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don’t produce literature.”
Every aspect of that statement (save Fields) is absolutely false.
I'm still wondering why the @AmerMedicalAssn didn't try to block his nomination.

I'm going to be back in Michigan. I'm trying to plan to watch the game with my family. The B10, however, has other plans. Why do fans put up with this ?
I propose this every two years: When I'm elected president, on day 1, we'll pass legislation stating that if as soon as you vote,, candidates and PACs can no longer contact you by mail, text, email, or any other means. We'll see early voting rates skyrocket

Scientists train for years to do science but we get almost no training in how to talk about it. In a way it makes sense - science and communication are two totally different disciplines. But these past few years have shown us just how important it is to master these skills.
This week on alpha, I’m talking with scientist-turned-science-communication expert @sarakyeo who has so much wisdom to share. If you are a scientist, I highly recommend you check this one out.
And did you know a dad joke can make a scientist seem more trustworthy than a clever, sarcastic one? Good news for me :)

Dear @OhioMedicine - Do the right thing and rescind your endorsement of Vivek for Governor if you really care about holding our politicians to a higher standard. I'm sure the physicians who care for patients who have been abused are disgusted by this.
Vivek Ramaswamy's campaign responds to the horrific ad featuring Amy Acton's estranged and abusive mother. They don't deny they played a part in it.
It is very difficult to imagine a world in which Acton's estranged mom did not get paid for this, and the payment wouldn't have had to come from Vivek's campaign directly.

ALT Screenshot of a statement: Attributable to Connie Luck, spokesperson for the Vivek Ramaswamy campaign: “We don't know what happened between Amy and her mother, who first spoke out about Amy in 2020, but we know that Amy Acton is a serial fabulist who has some serious problems with the truth that the public needs to be aware of before deciding who to entrust as governor. Elina Svitolina and Gael Monfils are ending their marriage 💔
Elina shared this message on IG:
“This is the most difficult thing I have ever had to share.
Everyone knows how much Ukraine means to me. What I have rarely spoken about is what the war has done to me inside.
Last year, I told you I needed to step away from the court because I wasn't in the right emotional space. Today, I want to open up a little more. What you didn't see were the sleepless nights, the doubts, and the feeling of slowly losing myself.
Gaël saw all of it. He never let go of my hand. We fought through this together for a long time, with everything we had.
But some battles happen deep inside you, and no amount of love from someone else can win them for you.
With time, I came to understand that I need to find my way back to myself and that I cannot do that within our marriage. It is the hardest truth I have ever had to face and the hardest thing I have ever had to tell the person I love. Gaël listened. He has respected what I need with a strength and grace I will never forget.
Gael has loved me through my greatest joys and my darkest moments, and I have loved him with all my heart. Together, we built a beautiful life, and we were given the most precious gift of all, our daughter, Skai.
Skai will always come first. Our marriage is ending, but our family is not. We will always be her parents, side by side, at every step of her life.
Please know that there is no one to blame here. There are only two people who loved each other deeply and a story that is changing shape.
We ask for your kindness and for the space we need to heal.
Thank you for your love 🤍”

11 years ago, we rallied as the Michigan community around a family. We prayed for them, we wore orange for them, & we cried with them one horrible day in November.
Today, that little boy beside his grandpa, 2nd from right, walked back onto that field and led Michigan to victory.
Got to hear Dr. Brooks a couple of months ago. Just brilliant and glad to see him bring this to the market
Once dismissed as waste. Now fuel you can drink.
Lactate is a fuel, not a waste product. Understanding it has transformed how we think about exercise and human metabolism.
Thank you, Dr. George Brooks, for more than five decades of pioneering research and for the courage to challenge what so many accepted as fact.
Who would have imagined that the molecule we spent decades dismissing as a waste product would one day be something we drink for energy?
Thank you, @EnervitSport, led by Mr. Alberto Sorbini, for 70 years of research and innovation in sports nutrition and sports science, and for partnering with us to bring this project to life.

One of the biggest mistakes we make is measuring our success against someone else’s.
Katie Ledecky nails it:
“You don’t have to win the race. You just have to win your race.”
Focus on your growth. Your progress. Your journey.
Back in the 90s, I did my master's thesis on gambling addiction in primary care, and some of the faculty scratched their heads about why I was focusing on this. It's getting to be a bigger and bigger issue
