As a fourth-generation rancher, I understand agriculture's importance to our nation.
From our country's fledgling days, agriculture was the glue that held our society together, with George Washington once stating that “agriculture is the most healthy, the most useful, and the most noble employment of man.”
On this National Farmers Day, we remember that agriculture is about more than raising livestock, planting, and harvesting; it is a way of life. May the Lord bless all those who “rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle” (Gen. 1:26).
