We held a hearing on this issue a year ago, and experts on mental health, school safety and learning all said the same thing: get the phones out of the schools.
So we did.
BREAKING: The PA House and Senate just officially passed a bell-to-bell ban to get cell phones out of our classrooms.
I called for this in my Budget Address and repeatedly urged the legislature to act ā and now, we've brought Democrats and Republicans together to get this done for our students and our educators.
It's time to get back to the basics in school and let our kids be kids.

The Allegheny County Board of Health has approved a paid parental leave program, mandating 12 weeks of paid leave for businesses with 15 or more employees. The proposal now moves to the County Council for consideration.
