posted on October 13th how our decision to keep the Milwaukee @Brewers here by the state financing the ballpark district's improvements is proving to be a wise one. Several people balked at that statement.
Now, the team is in the World Series, and the excitement and energy around the state are contagious! Yesterday, it was reported that, "According to MLB online store data, Brewers merch hit an all-time record for sales in the two days after the team swept the National League Championship Series." (per MJS) And that's only the start of the economic impact.
It is projected that each of the at least two home games could generate roughly $10 million to $12 million of economic impact. I know constituents who are getting more hours and tips because of this. I was at a watch party at the @DockHounds Ballpark last night that would have had no sales or activity without the game, but was filled with cheering fans last night.
You may not like what the Republican Legislature and Democrat Governor accomplished, but there's no refuting its positive impact on our state.

🎉CONGRATULATIONS to the City of @WI_Oconomowoc on just increasing their Moody's bond rating to Aaa! 🎉
This is no small accomplishment and bodes well for the taxpayers of the city. As one of only seven municipalities in the State of Wisconsin to achieve this highest bond rating, it assures residents of fiscal responsibility and stability. This was a team lift and took decades of responsible leadership to achieve. Congratulations to City Administrator, Mark Frye, Finance Director, Steve Hatton, and all of the local elected officials who made this happen! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Before we all get swept away by the excitement of the World Series coming to Wisconsin, be sure to clean out all of those unused medications. The Fall 2026 Drug Take Back Day is TOMORROW. You can find the drop-off location near you and what they will accept at collection sites by visiting dhs.wisconsin.gov/opioids/dr….
I think this was actually one of "The Education Governor's" biggest missteps. Because the funding could be used for tutoring and technology in addition to tuition, it could have actually helped Wisconsin students remain in our public schools rather than apply to a private school out of frustration. Sad.
"By refusing to join a new federal tax-credit program, Gov. Tony Evers is preventing Wisconsin students from accessing new scholarships."

There was yet another serious crash yesterday at the intersection of Hwy 67 and Hwy CW. My office has already reached out to the @WisconsinDOT first thing this morning to see what, if any, progress is being made on this dangerous stretch of highway. We will keep you updated with any pertinent information. I will continue to push for the state to make this area safer for everyone.
Please join me in congratulating the 99th Assembly District's newest Eagle Scouts, Gauge and Cameron! 🦅 I had the privilege of presenting each of them with a citation commending their efforts at their court of honor this weekend. Well done, gentlemen!
CONGRATULATIONS to our @Brewers on their National League Championship! 🏆⚾️🎉
We're coming to the end of National Cheesecurds Day, Wisconsin. 🧀 Where is YOUR favorite place for curds? Fresh or fried?
Fall is the time of year when our hardworking farmers are harvesting the food to get to your table. Please plan on more time if you're traveling rural roads. Slow down and give them space. That's the least we owe them!
Today, we remember all of those who have lost a tiny life too soon. We have made incredible advances in neonatology and maternal care, but there is still much work to be done. May God bring comfort to those who have suffered this trauma of joyful anticipation replaced by tragic grief.

This day is also observed as Indigenous People's Day. How much do you know about Wisconsin's tribes? The members of Wisconsin's 12 tribes (11 federally recognized) comprise an estimated 1.2 - 2.3% of the state's total population according to the most recent census data. Yet, the very name of our state and many of our municipalities find their origins in tribal language. Learn more about Wisconsin's tribes at nativeamericantribes.info/na….
