Before Congress, I produced film and TV. I know how productions pick where to shoot: they follow the incentives. Right now, 65 countries offer them. The U.S. has no national film tax credit. The bipartisan bill I'm co-leading creates a 20%-30% credit on American labor so the math makes shooting here work again. nytimes.com/2026/09/24/movie…

Spent some time talking with the young and bright leaders of tomorrow – our local Girl Scouts! As a Girl Scout mom, it gives me so much hope to see young people engaged in our democracy.

Hollywood has the best crews, soundstages, and post-production houses. It makes sense to keep filming here, but right now America is not competing for film and TV productions. That will change with the bipartisan film tax credit that I helped introduce. Together with our local production unions and my Congressional colleagues, we’ll keep fighting to get this bill passed and bring Hollywood home. cbsnews.com/losangeles/news/…

There’s just one week left to submit your application to my office for the Congressional App Challenge! Every year we are inspired by the ingenuity of our students. I can’t wait to see what this year’s middle and high schoolers will create!

A House Democrat is proposing that Congress tax large lines of credit that help the nation’s highest earners convert appreciated assets into cash, a tax-the-wealthy policy those on the left have wanted for years. news.bgov.com/bloomberg-gove…

Visited @SeedsofHopeLA Hollywood food distribution site at St. Stephen’s in Hollywood, which provides free and healthy produce to those in need, as well as cooking classes and urban gardens. They are just one of the many nutrition assistance organizations seeing more need because of Trump’s cuts to SNAP. In Congress, I’m pushing to undo these cuts to keep Angelenos from going hungry. I want to thank all the volunteers at St. Stephen’s who give their time and effort to serve their community!

I visited local small businesses along Melrose to talk to their owners about what they need to thrive. Running a business is hard. Tariffs, crime and infrastructure needs are making it harder. In Congress, I’m fighting to lower prices to help business keep their doors open, and get funds to local governments so that they can make their streets safer.

Huge thanks to @BluJamCafe, Carmel Melrose, @MTPfairfax, The Fame Yard, and @MelroseArtsDist for having me. These are just some of the businesses that make this little pocket of LA one of the coolest places to shop, eat, and explore.

Today marks the 54th anniversary of the passage of the Clean Water Act. Every American deserves access to clean water, free of lead and forever chemicals. I’ll continue defending the right to clean water for all our children and families.

LA County has felt the impact of fewer film and TV productions, from lost jobs to millions of dollars leaving our local economy. That’s why I’m proud to cosponsor the bipartisan Motion Picture, Television, and Entertainment Revitalization Act led by @RepFriedmanCA to create a national tax credit that brings productions and good-paying jobs back home.

This morning, my district office received an envelope containing a suspicious substance. Out of an abundance of caution, and under guidance from law enforcement, we evacuated. We will continue our work serving constituents and will be back in the office when responders tell us it is safe to return. I am grateful to Burbank and Glendale first responders for keeping everyone safe. Threats against lawmakers and the people who work for them have no place in this country. We will not allow them to stop us from working for the people of CD 30.

Part of my visit to Glendale Community College included a tour of their new Inclusion Center, which is home to updated spaces where students can connect, collaborate, and recharge as they pursue their studies. As the Trump Administration continues to cut financial resources for colleagues and universities, I’ll continue to defend every student’s access to a quality education that will help them succeed in life.

Today is National Mammography Day, which serves as an important reminder for women to get their routine mammogram when appropriate. Do not put off screening. Early detection is incredibly important. If you’re struggling to find or afford a mammogram, the CDC has resources that can help you locate free or low-cost screenings. Just go to cdc.gov/breast-cervical-canc…

The future of entertainment & education is being built right here at Glendale Community College. I was proud to put on a headset and experience it first-hand. GCC’s new virtual reality center is giving students an education in cutting-edge technology that will help prepare them for the workplace, whether it’s a Hollywood studio or a lab.

Elected officials are using their positions to enrich themselves. It’s past time for that to change. That’s why I’m helping lead the TRUST in Congress Act, which would prohibit members of Congress, their spouses, and children from trading individual stocks. I came to Congress to work for YOU. washingtonpost.com/politics/…

Gathered heads of LA’s local transit agencies and accessibility advocates to talk about what our region learned from the World Cup, and what we need to do now to prepare to host the world when the Olympics comes to town. An Olympic Games that moves Angelenos with ease, without putting the strain on taxpayers – that's what I’m working towards every single day.

This October, we’re honoring the brave icons who faced hatred with love, and forged ahead to fight for equal rights for all. We can recognize their achievements by learning about their struggles and recommitting ourselves to standing up for the rights of a new generation of LGBTQ Americans.

Now boarding at the new @fly_BUR terminal! As an airport commissioner, I helped build support for this badly needed project. In Congress, I serve on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, which oversees millions in funding to support projects like this. We all loved the old terminal, but this safer, more spacious, modern terminal will find its way into your heart.
