My staff joined @fema and Cal OES leadership alongside the Paradise Irrigation District, @paradise_ca, and Butte County officials to review recovery progress and discuss projects still ahead.

When families trust someone to care for their pets, they should never have to worry about whether they'll make it home safely.
I joined @kfbk News Radio to discuss Dunkin's Law, my legislation inspired by the heartbreaking loss of Dunkin, a beloved dog who died after being left at a boarding facility.
This bill would strengthen accountability for pet care facilities and give families a path to seek justice when their animals are harmed or neglected.
Our pets are family, and they deserve to be treated that way.
When Madeleine and Andrew entrusted their beloved dog, Dunkin, to a boarding facility, they expected him to be safe. Instead, they lost a member of their family and have been fighting for answers and accountability ever since.
Their heartbreaking story, along with the horrific discovery of more than 100 dead dogs at a Northern California rescue, exposes a serious gap in how we protect companion animals and hold those responsible for their care accountable.
That's why I'm introducing Dunkin's Law, legislation that would give pet owners a path to seek justice when their animals suffer harm or neglect at covered facilities, while strengthening accountability for unlawful euthanasia at rescues and shelters.
No family should have to endure what Dunkin's family has gone through.

The bipartisan Fix Our Forests Act is a commonsense solution to improve forest management and reduce wildfire risk. The North State knows firsthand the devastation wildfires leave behind. We can save lives, protect our communities, and prevent billions in damage by taking action before wildfire disaster strikes.
It’s time to get this bill across the finish line by including it in the FY2027 NDAA or another legislative vehicle before the end of this Congress.
Californians are being priced out of their own communities, and skyrocketing insurance costs are making matters worse.
We need to pass the Fix Our Forests Act to reduce wildfire risks and cut the red tape making it nearly impossible to build affordable housing in California.

Here's how to prepare to apply:
Visit Login.gov and create an account if you don't already have one.
Link your Login.gov account to USDA.
Watch for USDA's announcement opening applications. Eligible producers with linked accounts will be able to access pre-filled applications online.
Review your application and follow USDA's instructions once the application period opens.
Specialty crop growers: USDA is also requesting information about increased fuel costs. Send relevant data to [email protected] for consideration as payment rates are developed.

Today I joined @CAL_FIRE for a prescribed burn at Loafer Creek, working alongside California State Parks and the U.S. Forest Service.
For too long, we've allowed dangerous fuel loads to build up across our public lands, putting entire communities at risk of catastrophic wildfire.
Prescribed burns are a critical part of restoring healthy forests and protecting our homes. We need more proactive forest management, not more red tape standing in the way of getting this important work done.
Foreign-linked criminal organizations have no business turning Northern California into a hub for illegal marijuana cultivation.
These operations are putting rural families at risk while contaminating our natural resources with dangerous pesticides. It's time to expose who's financing them and hold those responsible accountable.
