Good thing someone has a wealth tax bill.
United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby tells the New York Times that "wealth inequality has become a danger to our society" and must be addressed. "We should have a national wealth tax... we should have inheritance taxes that get close to 100 percent at some level. I would pay them." (nytimes.com/2026/10/18/busin…)

No billionaire, especially one that gets massive contracts from our government, should have the power to unilaterally decide to shut down communications and weapons during a war of critical importance to the US and Ukraine. We must investigate this and hold Musk accountable.

I am appalled that Brad Lander, the Democratic nominee for NY-10, was detained by the IDF in the West Bank alongside rabbis and other activists in the annual olive harvest. It is a stark reminder of the abuses Palestinians face on a near daily basis doing even the simplest of tasks, like harvesting olives on the land their families have cultivated for centuries. Next Congress, Democrats must pass the Stop Settlements Act to demand our government use its leverage to bring the illegal settlement movement to an end.

What we said would happen is happening. Republicans ending TPS for Haitians has led to incredible job loss, harming businesses and the local economy in communities like Springfield, Ohio. Scapegoating hardworking immigrants hurts all of us.

Alina Habba, who Trump unlawfully appointed as US attorney in NJ, and who later served as senior advisor to the Department of Justice, received a $50 MILLION contract to work for a billionaire, just WEEKS after Trump pardoned him. This administration’s corruption has no end.

As more elected officials report receiving suspicious letters sent to their offices, we have to be clear that attempts to threaten anyone into silence are unacceptable. We’ve seen how dangerous political violence can be in this climate, and it’s up to all of us to stop it. axios.com/2026/10/20/white-p…

Outrageous. This is blocking off people who have done the entire legal process, have become green card holders and are not eligible and in line just waiting for their citizenship approval. It was always trump’s plan to end all legal pathways for immigration.
Naturalization grants by month: August 2024: 64,790 August 2025: 71,866 August 2026: 15,349 @USCISJoe has illegally capped naturalization grants.

How about Trump’s 30,000 stock trades since returning to the White House? How about the crypto scams? This administration is beyond corrupt.

The momentum for Medicare for All is on our side. I’m proud to be the lead sponsor of this transformative legislation and to have provided an update on our fight at last week’s National Single Payer Virtual Town Hall.

Oregon is the first state to have every Democratic Member of Congress as a cosponsor of Medicare for All! This is a huge step forward towards making universal healthcare a reality in this country. Which state will be next?

Another U.S. citizen was assaulted and injured by ICE. This time in Long Beach, California. Congress must refuse to fund this lawlessness and hold Trump’s rogue militia accountable.

ICE has notified me of another death that has occurred in their custody. This is the 59th death under Trump’s second term. We cannot allow this to continue. We need justice for ICE’s abuse, and we must completely eliminate this broken for-profit system.

Monopolists have an incredible amount of control over critical infrastructure and communications across the globe. From Starlink slowing down in Ukraine to Meta shutting down the No Kings account, it’s clear these companies and billionaires need real oversight and regulation. spectrumlocalnews.com/nc/mou…

Important message from @BarackObama about Trump's outrageous and dangerous raid on @Ilhan and what it means for all of us when Trump weaponizes the DOJ against his political enemies.
It is a basic principle of American democracy that the government can’t selectively target individuals simply because of their political beliefs or what they say. But that’s exactly what the Trump Administration is doing to Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota. To understand why this is so appalling, it’s important to know the facts. Congresswoman Omar came to this country with her father when she was 12 years old. Five years later, her father became a naturalized citizen. If Ilhan had been 18 at the time, she would have had to apply for citizenship separately. But because she was 17, she became a naturalized citizen automatically. Congresswoman Omar went on to graduate from college, work as a community organizer, become the first Somali-American legislator elected to public office in the U.S., and win a seat in Congress. There, she has been one of the Trump Administration’s fiercest critics, which has led the president to repeatedly single her out as someone who he believes does not belong in this country. Now the Administration is actively trying to deport Congresswoman Omar, seemingly based solely on the unsubstantiated theory that she was actually 18 when her father was naturalized, and therefore is not a citizen. Federal agents have raided her home, confiscated personal records, and seized her phone — all to try and uncover a nonexistent smoking gun from 20 years ago that will somehow make their case. Think about that. The full weight of the federal government is being brought down on a law-abiding elected official because she has dared to criticize the president. And it’s not the first time this has happened. Under President Trump, the Justice Department has repeatedly gone after those he considers his political enemies — from the Attorney General of New York, to the former head of the FBI, to members of the Federal Reserve. In those cases, the prosecutions either stalled or were dismissed for having no basis in law, and the same is likely to happen in this case. But not before Congresswoman Omar’s life has been turned upside down, her legal bills have piled up, and she’s been forced to spend time fighting unsubstantiated charges instead of serving the people of Minnesota. The fact that any president, or any administration, is willing to engage in such transparent efforts to intimidate someone should outrage all Americans, regardless of how they feel about Congresswoman Omar’s political views. Because if this becomes the new normal, there’s no reason to believe it will stop with her — or that future presidents, in either party, won’t do the same.

Trump has cost families in WA-07 a whopping $5,700 since retaking office. He promised to lower costs on day one. That couldn’t be farther from the truth.
