Recently, I had the chance to visit The Salvation Army’s Hospitality House in Allentown and learn more about the important work they do to support individuals and families in our community. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, a time to recognize survivors, raise awareness, and reaffirm our commitment to preventing domestic violence. Since my time in the Pennsylvania State House, I've worked to strengthen protections for victims of abuse, including introducing bipartisan legislation to help domestic violence survivors access unemployment benefits when leaving a job for their safety. Now in Congress, I've cosponsored legislation to strengthen funding for victim services, combat human trafficking, and expand protections for survivors. I'll continue working to ensure victims have access to the resources and support they need to rebuild their lives.

Halloween festivities are underway across the Lehigh Valley and the Poconos! Eliana from my team stopped by LifeSpan Child Care's Trunk or Treat event in Allentown. Thank you to LifeSpan Child Care and everyone who helped make this a fun evening for local families.

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we recognize the strength of those battling breast cancer, celebrate survivors, and remember those we've lost. Early detection can save lives. This October, join us in recognizing the importance of regular screenings and thanking the families, caregivers, and health care professionals who support those affected by breast cancer.

We’re proud to support our local volunteer firefighters. Had the chance to visit our friends at the Lower Macungie Volunteer Fire Department during their annual open house and thank them for all that they do. Through the bipartisan appropriations process we were able to secure $1.6 million for the Lower Mac Volunteer Fire Department to build a new fire hall in Alburtis. That was part of over $5 million that we’ve brought home to support first responders throughout the Lehigh Valley and the Poconos. We’ll keep working to support first responders and deliver results for our communities.⁩

Fraud in federal benefit programs hurts taxpayers and takes critical resources away from Americans who need them most. Earlier this year, I joined Vice President JD Vance at the White House to discuss our efforts to crack down on fraud, including my House-passed Putting Patients First by Strengthening Provider Accountability in FECA Act, which prevents fraudulent medical providers from exploiting federal workers’ compensation programs. I'll keep working to protect taxpayers, hold fraudsters accountable, and safeguard these programs for those who rely on them.

As National Hispanic Heritage Month comes to a close, we're recognizing the individuals and organizations that help strengthen our communities across the Lehigh Valley and the Poconos. Eliana from my team presented a Congressional Certificate to Isa Pereira, publisher of La Razón Newspaper, in recognition of its 20th anniversary of keeping our Spanish-speaking community informed and connected. Congratulations to Isa and the entire La Razón team on this milestone!

Congratulations to East Penn Manufacturing on eight decades of success! My team recently attended the anniversary celebration and presented a Congressional Certificate recognizing this milestone. Since its founding in 1946, East Penn Manufacturing has grown into a major employer in our region, supporting local jobs and strengthening the Lehigh Valley’s manufacturing industry.

Supporting our veterans, servicemembers, and military families is one of my top priorities in Congress. From improving access to VA health care and mental health services to helping military families with everyday costs, I’m working to ensure those who have served our country receive the support they deserve. Great spending time at the Emmaus Police Department’s National Night Out! Supporting law enforcement has always been a priority for me. That's why I helped to bring home over $5 million to support projects benefiting first responders all across the Lehigh Valley and the Poconos. Thank you to the Emmaus Police Department and everyone who helped make this year’s event a success.

I joined Kerry for the grand opening of its new coffee extraction facility in Bethlehem — the company’s first manufacturing site in Pennsylvania. It’s great to see companies like Kerry investing in the Lehigh Valley, expanding their operations, and helping strengthen our local economy. I was pleased to present a Congressional Certificate recognizing this milestone. Congratulations to the entire Kerry team on the opening of this new facility!

My team member Zack joined the Lopez family for the ribbon cutting of Gigi and Alex restaurant and presented a congressional certificate recognizing the occasion. Owners Alejandro and Lucia Lopez named the restaurant after their children, Gigi and Alex. Wishing the family continued success!

Since taking office, my office has helped return $20.7 million to constituents across the Lehigh Valley and the Poconos through federal casework and assistance. Whether it’s a delayed IRS refund, Social Security or veterans’ benefits, passport issues, or another problem with a federal agency, our constituent services team is here to help cut through the red tape and get people the answers and money they are owed. First responders always answer the call, no matter the time or place. During our event at Mack Trucks earlier this year with President Trump, a woman in the audience experienced a medical emergency. Fortunately, three volunteer firefighters from the Bethlehem Township Volunteer Fire Department were on hand to provide life-saving care. For 20 years, the Medical Home Project at Lehigh Valley Health Network has worked to improve health care for individuals with disabilities through patient-centered care, respectful communication, and better coordination of community resources. Zack from my team was glad to join @LVHN to recognize this important milestone and present a Congressional Certificate celebrating two decades of service to our community.

We were able to step in, work through the issue, and help get her the resolution she needed.
