This is just a lie. Inflation was over 8% before the Inflation Reduction Act. Then after Democrats passed it, inflation reduced from 8.3% down to 2.4% just 2 years later. The Inflation Reduction Act caused the greatest 2 year reduction in inflation in the last 40 years, as proven by the data. Then Trump ruined it by reversing that good trend.
Replying to @RepShriThanedar
Your Economic Ignorance should disqualify you from Congress. The Democrats so called "Inflation Reduction Act" was a massive spending bill that did nothing to reflect its name. Inflation went up 15% after the Bill was implemented. You do know we can verify your claims, right?

Yes, because Democrats passed the Inflation Reduction Act in 2022 in response the post-pandemic inflation wave; this law brought inflation down from over 7% to under 3%. Then Trump ruined that by smacking tariffs on everything, passing his Big Ugly Bill, and starting a war to enrich his sons, causing inflation to rise again.

As if skyrocketing gas prices weren't bad enough, electricity prices are going through the roof as well. This is what happens when the President starts wars to enrich his children.
US electricity prices are skyrocketing. The average price of US residential electricity has risen +11% since January 2025, to 19.6 cents per kilowatt-hour in August 2026, near an all-time high. Average prices during the first 8 months of 2026 were +40% higher than in the same period of 2019. The largest increase in residential electricity prices over this period was in Maine, at +90%, followed by California and New York, at nearly +70%. This comes as the AI boom is intensifying electricity demand, with data centers requiring enormous amounts of electricity to power thousands of chips and cooling systems. A 1-gigawatt data center can consume as much electricity as 800,000 homes. As a result, wholesale electricity prices in areas near significant data center activity surged by as much as +267% between 2020 and 2025. The AI revolution is driving a surge in electricity demand, and households are increasingly feeling the cost.

This means more expensive gas, energy, and food. As if Trump and Congressional Republicans haven't caused enough inflation already.

Inflation has gone up as a result of Trump and Congressional Republicans, but instead of taking accountability they just accuse disgruntled American workers of being ungrateful.
Trump says prices are coming "way, way down." Inflation was below 3% when Biden left office. It is 3.7% now.

This is just a lie. Inflation has been outpacing wages every month for the last SIX consecutive months. Before Trump, we had nearly 2 years straight without a single month of inflation being higher than wages. So leave it to Trump officials to go on TV and lie about easily checkable numbers.
KERNEN: In the last few months, didn't it flip where wage growth was slightly below the rate of inflation? HASSETT: Just for a couple months in a row KERNEN: How many straight month have wages underperformed inflation? HASSETT: It was the last two or three

Inflation just shot up again, even worse than economists predicted. Wages are falling, getting completely eaten up by inflation. Downward revisions just ERASED 793,000 American jibs over the last 20 months. What the hell is he talking about?
Hassett claims that high mortgage rates and rising inflation is "hardly enough to overpower all the good news that we're seeing"

793,000 jobs ERASED in the last 20 months. That's on top of rampant inflation, insane gas rices, and falling wages. This is the economy that Trump and Congressional Republicans have given us.
JUST IN: US jobs reports have been revised lower in 16 of 20 months, erasing 793,000 jobs

Wholesale inflation just had to worst monthly increase in over 4+ years. This is a direct result of Trump's crooked war, reckless tariffs, and harmful provisions of the Big Ugly Bill.

Wages are going down, inflation is rising, and wholesale inflation just saw the largest monthly increase in over 4+ years. Trump and Congressional Republicans ran on tackling inflation only to then make it worse.
QUINTANILLA: Real average hourly earnings down 0.7% on the month. That's the sixth straight month CRAMER: Look, rich people are making a lot of money. God, I sound like Marx. I really don't want to sound like Marx. It's just, I'm looking at the data

Heartbroken to hear that Congressman Krishnamoorthi and his family were targeted by an attempted mass shooting while worshipping. Congress must fight the horrifying rise in anti-Hindu attacks: everyone should be able to practice their faith without fear.
My family and I were worshipping at our Hindu temple in Aurora on Sunday when a white supremacist attempted a mass shooting targeting Indian Americans. I'm grateful to those who helped prevent a tragedy, but we must come together to confront the hatred that put so many innocent lives at risk.

The graph tells the whole story; before Trump returned to office, wages were growing. Now under Trump, we have seen SIX consecutive months of NEGATIVE wage growth. All while inflation just shot up in one of the worst inflation increases in months.
Real wages are shrinking year-over-year for the sixth month in a row. The Iran War brought an end to three years of real wage growth.

Not even Fox can spin it; Trump’s tariffs have raised the prices of everything. Even goods made in America rose as a result of his reckless tariffs. And Congressional Republicans are too scared to stand up to him.
Trump’s tariffs raised prices on more than imports. New York Fed researchers found they also pushed up the cost of American-made goods. Full story here foxnews.com/politics/america…

This time 2 years ago, inflation was 2.6%, and Republicans were screaming that 2.6% was unacceptably high because Biden was president. Today, inflation is much higher at 3.7% under Trump, but those same Republicans who were screaming about 2.6% inflation insist that 3.7% inflation is "not a surge." The hypocrisy is truly a sight to behold.

Inflation just skyrocketed again, even higher than economists predicted. Americans are getting absolutely crushed by rising prices due to Trump’s reckless policies, and Congressional Republicans have been behind those reckless policies every step of the way.
