Telehealth saves time, money, and lives. That’s why my CONNECT for Health Act would permanently expand telehealth access for millions of Americans on Medicare. Proud to be joined by @repdavid, @dorismatsui, and @repbalderson in this effort that would improve access to and expand services that can be provided through telehealth under Medicare.
After reviewing evidence, Woodland Police Department determined that an ICE agent’s SUV did strike U.S. Citizen Antonio Moreida in Woodland on Tuesday, and Antonio did not jump onto the hood like ICE alleged.
ICE’s history of bad behavior and lack of accountability is exactly why I took action Tuesday. I contacted the Acting Director of ICE immediately to demand answers and I support a full, independent investigation. ICE’s actions have contributed to growing distrust and fear within our communities, making accountability more important now than ever.

Joined 98 of my colleagues in calling on the Department of Education to begin an investigation into Title IX enforcement. The safety of students on campus should not be a partisan issue, and the Department of Education must work to enforce and strengthen Title IX protections across our nation’s schools.
The Administration is planning to stick states with a larger share of disaster recovery costs.
For California, that could mean wildfire survivors waiting longer to rebuild, local governments struggling to repair destroyed roads and water systems, and taxpayers who have lost everything footing billions in recovery costs.
Californians pay federal taxes. I will continue to fight to ensure our community receives federal disaster assistance when catastrophe strikes.

Proud to have the endorsement of @public_citizen for my American Energy Independence and Affordability Act. Glad to be working with @reprichardneal to lead the fight to restore critical climate provisions. This bill restores key provisions from the Inflation Reduction Act to ensure America continues leading the transition to clean, affordable, and reliable energy.
Team Thompson is always ready to help our constituents! Hear from Alicia from Solano County about how we were able to help her secure Supplemental Security Income for her daughter.
Proud to have the support of @usmayors for my American Affordability Act. My American Affordability Act lowers housing costs by strengthening the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit, delivering tax credits for first-time homebuyers and renters, increasing the capital gains tax exclusion to help long-term homeowners downsize, and incentivizing the conversion of vacant offices and commercial buildings into housing to increase supply. Ninety-three percent of mayors listed housing as their primary affordability concern, and this bill is how we bring those costs down.
Read my full statement in response to reports that an ICE agent hit a person with a vehicle in Woodland today.

ALT “ICE cannot continue to terrorize our communities. I am in communication with local law enforcement, who have informed me that ICE was operating the vehicle in question and that an investigation is underway. No one is above the law. ICE’s actions have contributed to growing distrust and fear within our communities, making transparency and accountability all the more critical. Members of our community need to feel safe.”
The Asian Pacific American Public Affairs Association recently celebrated 25 years of working to uplift Asian American and Pacific Islander communities through public service, education, advocacy, and leadership development. Thank you for your twenty-five years of service to our community!
Congratulations, 10,000 Degrees, on a successful Change Makers Celebration! You do fantastic work supporting talented students from low-income backgrounds by helping them get into college, succeed while there, and launch meaningful careers.
Recently, suspicious envelopes containing white powder have been mailed to Congressional offices across our country. Today, my office received one.
My team is trained to handle suspicious mail safely and I am relieved to report no one was hurt. Once my staff member identified the suspicious envelope, he did not open it and he alerted authorities immediately. Thank you to our local law enforcement and first responders who arrived on scene, including Napa County Fire Chief JC Greenberg, City of Napa Fire Chief Zach Curren, HazMat specialists with the Napa Interagency Hazardous Incident Team, and members of the Napa County Sheriff’s Office, Napa County Emergency Medical Services, and CalFire. The case has now been turned over to the FBI.
Political violence has no place in our democracy. This attempt to intimidate public servants and our staff will not succeed. Team Thompson will continue to do our jobs and serve the people of California’s Fourth District with pride.
Thank you, Adams Seed and Grain, for giving me a tour of your processing plant. Adams is a fifth-generation, family-owned food company that has been based in and providing food for our Woodland community for over 100 years!
Always fun to join the Napa County Bicycle Coalition for a ride through our beautiful district. Thank you, Napa County Bicycle Coalition, for all your work building better bicycling infrastructure in Napa. Honored to help support your efforts in Congress by having secured $4,850,000 for the Napa Valley Vine Trail.
Today marks 54 years of the Clean Water Act. This landmark legislation helps prevent pollution in our water, ensures safe drinking water for all, and preserves our natural resources for generations to come.
Congratulations Napa Valley CanDo on ten years of fighting hunger in Napa. Napa Valley CanDo's work has provided 99,276 meals to members of our community this year, and the organization is continuing to work to grow and scale its capabilities.
Our national wildlife refuges play a vital role in protecting wildlife and preserving America’s natural heritage. That’s why I joined @robwittman to introduce a resolution to designate the week of October 10 as National Wildlife Refuge Week. Wildlife refuges give Americans opportunities to enjoy hunting, fishing, and wildlife observation, and this week acknowledges the importance of these public lands and the need to conserve them for future generations.
Thank you, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, for meeting with me to discuss issues impacting our small business community. It was great to tour the “Business One Stop Shop” opening soon for entrepreneurs to receive all the help and resources they need to start their own businesses.
Excited to have gotten the chance to stop by @landwatercoffee, a local coffee roaster and café in Santa Rosa. Small businesses are the backbone of our economy, and I’ll keep fighting to ensure they have the support they need to thrive.
