Replying to @realdrmom
They call it “integrating” & “transitioning” Medicare into a “state universal health plan”. oregon.gov/uhpgb/Documents/b…

Democrats call the new taxes for their government healthcare plan “contributions.” When the government requires you to pay, how voluntary is that? Oregon’s proposed single-payer system would replace premiums, deductibles, and copays with new state taxes, on individuals, businesses, and payrolls. Independent analysis puts the annual cost in the $71 billion to $94 billion range. That’s tens of billions in required payments that Salem politicians want to rebrand as “contributions.” Who decides what care you receive? What happens to your relationship with your doctor? Who is accountable when the numbers don’t add up? I don’t trust state government to run your healthcare better than you and your doctor. Healthcare decisions should stay between patients and physicians, not bureaucrats in Salem. If you agree, follow this page and share this post. I’ll keep asking the questions they don’t want answered.

Gov. Kotek’s takeover of healthcare in Oregon would: 1. Cover illegals 2. Take away Medicare 3. Push marginal tax rate to 70%+ Fire her. oregon.gov/uhpgb/Documents/b…
Gov. Kotek's Health Plan Board just approved sending their Medicare For All plan to double your taxes to the legislature. Back in 2022 before the passage of SB1089 that created the Board, Kotek was asked: "If the legislature passes a statewide health plan, would you sign it as governor?" Kotek's reponse: "I would be inclined to go there, if it gets past the legislature." Listen.

Parents want to know if their kids are learning. Right now, the results say no. Statewide tests show less than half of Oregon students are proficient in reading and only about one-third are proficient in math. National scores put us among the worst in the country on both subjects. Other states spend less and get better outcomes. Families here are watching their children fall behind while costs stay high. That’s the reality under the Democratic majority. What matters is whether kids can read, do math, and leave school ready for work or college. The current approach hasn’t delivered. Democrats spent more. Kids learned less. That’s the record. It’s time for accountability and real results for Oregon families.

When Oregon leadership claims we don't have money for roads, bridges, or essential services, remember this: A 10+ year Oregon OSHA employee recently reached out to my office with a stark warning about government waste and lack of accountability: 🔻 Nearly half (46%) of state employees are working remotely, yet management fails to track productivity or hold non-performers accountable. 🔻 Taxpayers are still paying full price for underutilized state office buildings, empty utilities, and full maintenance contracts. 🔻 Dedicated "workhorse" employees are forced to carry the load while system abuses go unaddressed. Before Oregonians are asked to pay higher taxes or fees for ODOT and state projects, Salem needs to audit state agencies, eliminate waste, and restore accountability from the top down. Do you agree it’s time for a full review of state agency spending? Let me know in the comments below.

Kotek's board is cherry picking to push this plan. If a consultant gives you a cost range, is it reasonable to base your report on the low tail, and stay silent on the high tail? If you want to claim the system could save $, that's what you have to do. Brazen!

Listening to this meeting... Just heard testimony that this plan could push marginal tax rates north of 70%. Who would stay?

Following Kotek’s Medicare For All push yet? Her Board is voting on their plan this morning at 9:00 AM. Wanna tune in? Click the registration link below. 👇 N.B. — What they’re actually voting on is essentially just a status report, not a comprehensive plan. It fails to meet basic statutory requirements as it leaves major questions unanswered: ❌ No economic elasticity analysis ❌ No plan for startup costs or funding ❌ Inadequate reserve planning ❌ No detailed financial models or Economic Impact Statement ❌ Relies on rosy assumptions (ignoring upper-end cost projections from consultants) oregon.gov/uhpgb/board-meeti…

Why has NO state ever done single-payer? Because the numbers are insane. Oregon’s plan is projected to cost up to $94 BILLION a year. That’s why Vermont killed theirs, California Democrats refused, and Colorado voters rejected it by 80%. Every state that looked at it realized it would destroy the economy. Oregon is next.
