WiFi wasn’t great during the protest so here are some videos from earlier in the day. I noticed a wide variety of people in the crowd.
There was a small band toward the back of the protest crowd. They also led a few chants ahead of the main program for the protest.
This is a view of the crowd from the press risers. Again, organizers tell me more than 200,000 people came out today. This is a major increase from June’s protests, most of the folks I talked with told me this was their first No Kings protest.
NOW: Senator Bernie Sanders on the main stage on:
“Brothers and sisters, this is not the end, this is just the beginning.”
NOW: Thousands of people are here in Washington, DC for the No Kings Protests. This is one of more than 2,600 demonstrations across the country and the globe in response to President Trump’s administration.
There’s a large presence from the Free DC movement too. This is a local grassroots movement to push for statehood for DC and maintain Home Rule for the city.
