Now more than ever we must continue to fight for accessible, stigma-free and funded reproductive health care in NB
Write, call, or tweet your MLA, the Premier, and the Regional Health Authorities and tell them we must remove
wait times in our already overburdened hospitals.
Abortion providers have been fighting 84.20 in the courts, starting in 2003. Why is our government spending money in court instead of on health care?

The NB government is breaking the law.
Regulation 84.20, which bans medicare reimbursement for abortions done outside hospital, is unconstitutional, illegal, and unethical.
Not to mention that abortions provided outside of hospitals cost the tax-payer less & reduce
the Fredericton area
- The only place where pregnant people can access a surgical abortion outside of a hospital in the Maritime provinces
later pregnancy, and people who can’t travel to hospital are most at risk. Hospitals are not safe for all people.
(2) Essential services lost. we are losing:
- Trauma-informed, often pro-bono, patient-centered care
- The only place to have a surgical (procedural) abortion in

Why does this matter?
(1) Decreased access for the most vulnerable. Gaps in abortion care will grow wider and barriers will rise taller, leading to further marginalization. Those who don’t have Medicare, those in
