Definitely not juat the SAT cityjournal.substack.com/p/w…
It’s not just the SAT, guys. You and your child are victims of “The Honesty Gap”, the official term for state Dept of Eds lowering cut scores on “proficiency” to make the public schools appear more successful than they are. I explained this in the article linked in reply and give you some quick tools to honestly assess your child’s progress on what’s supposedly being taught in school (the value of which is also in question). Be brave, mom and dad. This is need-to-know stuff. You are likely aware you can’t trust grades; you have to stop trusting the annual test too.

We were concerned that the SAT has become a less reliable measure of student preparedness for a rigorous college curriculum. So, we commissioned a study from Johns Hopkins University. What does this study tell us about the state of higher education? The results are shocking. thaq.co/4iLThZ0

We were honestly dying laughing at the CLT office when this Atlantic article dropped. We knew the Johns Hopkins Study was coming the next day, a study that empirically proved the new SAT is a total joke. Notice they critique our math without even mentioning we are the only test that doesn’t allow for a calculator. It is so dishonest. Everyone with basic knowledge of the three tests knows CLT is the hardest, this is not a debate. Talk to students, 100% of them will tell you the same thing. This article was about Tuesday’s election and following the Hopkins study it has now done unimaginable damage to The Atlantic’s reputation. This article proves why outlets like the Free Press are experiencing massive growth while The Atlantic is struggling for subscribers.
The Classic Learning Test is trying to replace the SAT and ACT, @rosehorowitch writes. She reports on why red states are adopting the CLT at an astonishing rate—and why the test may be lowering standards for students: theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/1…

What more discussion is needed is their survey said 79% of respondents wanted co-enrollment 🤔 Its never about the people.
Wake County school board chair Tyler Swanson said they'll have more discussion at their December retreat before taking action on whether to allow homeschool students to take classes part-time in the district. #nced #wcpss

An education theorist argued grouping kids by ability creates unfair “racially segregated classrooms.” Her book helped fuel a movement to put beginners and advanced kids in the same classroom. Here’s how that push has held smart kids back:

Its a No for me for sure!
For years, WCPSS took money meant for HVAC repairs/updates and spent it elsewhere. WCPSS NEGLIGENCE created the issue that we're in now with broken units. Vote NO on the bond to give them even more $$$ to waste. #WCPSS #NCED @M4LWakeNC @WCPSS @NCAuditorBoliek

Any student can possess any characteristic, that's not Identification. The right thing to do ID #Gifted and #Profoundlygifted students is look at IQ and Overexcitabilities. Identification is laid out in the 2026 Gold Standards for Gifted Programming from the @GiftedConsortiu
can’t emphasize enough how incredibly FUBAR the American gifted “identification” process has become It’s actually a thousand different processes and 3/4 of them suck

And yet, this is pretty much what MANY MANY parents of highly #gifted students are ultimately forced to do.
"It shouldn't be this hard to give our kids a great high school experience" Direct quote from a new friend who just started homeschooling her 6th grader bc she was so advanced in math the school couldn't contain her. Friend trying to find an in-person high school & is so disappointed in everything. It shouldn't be possible for untrained homeschool moms to provide a superior education to educators who've been doing it for decades. But it is.

We really live in an upside-down world when NOT paying to have your nails manicured and painted is somehow a "class" and "race" issue? 🤣 archive.is/mlzy5#&_intcmp=fn…

Anyway, I'm glad people have stopped asking us if we have "education experts" on staff The "experts" are morons. No one should be listening to them (8/n)

Maryanne Wolf never had a HG-PG child that started reading and comprehending at age 3. Kids like this have a voracious appetite to consume all the words in the world through reading. Id like to see her try to tell an HG-PG child to "wait until they're 6 years old " 🤣
"I even think that it’s really wrong for parents to ever try to push reading before 5," says Maryanne Wolf, director of the Center for Dyslexia, Diverse Learners and Social Justice at UCLA. (1/n)

Years of research says failure to meet needs of gifted students leads to cognitive & affective harm. If everyone knows, it is time to make a difference in schools. Let's get districts to adopt the 2026 HG-PG #Gifted Programming Gold Standards & do better for these students 🙏
Underachievement and poor social-emotional development including anxiety, depression, and identity issues can be attributed to the failure to meet the cognitive and social-emotional development of children who are gifted. Identification is essential! giftedconsortium.org/highly-…
