🌺 TIME TO MAKE SURE THE NEXT GENERATION REMEMBERS.
One day, my daughter will ask me why we wear a poppy.
And I will tell her.
I'll tell her about the brave men and women who left their families behind, not knowing if they would ever return.
I'll tell her about the sacrifices made, the lives lost, the families torn apart and the generations who never got to grow old.
I'll explain that behind every name on a memorial was a real person. Someone's son, daughter, husband, wife, father or mother.
And I'll tell her that remembrance isn't about glorifying war. It's about honouring those who endured it and remembering the true cost of peace.
Because one day, those who witnessed these sacrifices will no longer be here to tell their stories.
Then it becomes our responsibility.
We must pass those stories on to our children, so they can pass them on to theirs.
History must never become just another forgotten page in a book.
🌺 We remember them today. We teach our children tomorrow. We honour them forever.

Military Working Dogs have been shields, swords, eyes and ears for generations of troops.
Swift of foot, strong of heart, and loyal to the end.

So swift of feet and strong of heart – so loyal to the end.
He was a combat soldier – ideal in every way.
In action he was fearless – the first into the fray.
He was my shield between our foes – my sword within a fight.

We bonded in our training – he had a trooper’s soul.
If not for his protection – we couldn’t do our role.
And now he has departed – he served his country true.
