Alright, let's give this another shot! I have way too many things I want to share to disappear here on X. I look forward to the positive interactions... and we'll deal with the negative ones swiftly 馃槀
Pretty soon I am going to start to assemble the Tower of Retrocomputing Power. I did test some components out last night in anticipation. Let's go over that, and then maybe I'll have the energy to go upstairs and put this thing together 馃槀. Time for a 馃У
... while this tape can be read, I can't write to it! I last had it in the Colorado T1000 drive. Must be something about the tape format. We'll mess with that later, and I do have other tapes! But yea the drive works and can even verify past backups.
That's as far as I made it. I didn't test out the Bernoulli, and there isn't any need to "test" the storage caddy. Well... you know what? I think it's time to finally head upstairs and work on this beast. Look for another thread soon! Thx for reading!

I will say this cigarette lighter/cup holder is fundamentally flawed. The cup holder is not great. Also if you push in the cigarette lighter at certain times, the current draw is too much, and the power supply overload circuit kicks in (not shown).
I promise that we will get to the Tower of Retrocomputing Power, but let's look at my new Tandy 1000 HX first! Time for a quick 馃У
Okay, so I ran setuphx (forgot to grab other screenshots!), changed the system to boot from disk, and now the XTIDE boot ROM kicks in! The system wouldn't boot from drive C:, so I just used a boot disk for now.
My final act for now was to fire up Deskmate. I'm happy to report that this Tandy 1000 HX looks to be in great working order. Next up: maybe I will try to get the staining out and set up the CF card. We will see. Thx for reading!
