Wife, mama of 3, recently returned to the homeland. Catholic who came back. And continues to come back repeatedly, because, you know, sin and stuff.

My husband, who I've been with for 12 years, grabbed me for a hug as I walked by on a random Monday and said "Thanks for being my girl," so if you're a husband wondering if you should do that to your wife, the answer is yes. 🥰

They’re becoming Christian to become based, not to become Christlike. It is something we need to confront head-on.
What I’ve learned in the past two years: Too many young men in America have suddenly become “Christian” for the aesthetic alone and don’t know a single thing about Jesus or His gospel. It’s the most spiritually dangerous revival I’ve ever seen because their faith shows no fruit evidence of actually being a saving faith. Their fruit is resentment, hate, perversion, pride, and ignorance. They don’t understand grace. They don’t know what a testimony is. They don’t know that ALL have sinned or the implications of that fact. They don’t value humility, or meekness. They don’t value Christs commands beyond the few proof-texts they can twist to grasp at power or vainglory. They use worldly wisdom, priorities and judgement and just slap Jesus’ name on it. The church needs to stand up and fight this. These men are going to hell and taking thousands with them.

I can explain easily. Bad Americans are still Americans. Good non-Americans are still non-Americans. "American" is not a term of moral judgment, but of objective fact about identity, origin, and citizenship.
i would love JD vance to explain why his drug addicted mother who ruined his life and abused him is more american than his wife who lifted him out of the middle class.

most disingenuous part of mommy wars are moms who pretend there is no joy in any activity that isn’t baby cuddling. no ines saying you have to go on a friend trip but don’t act like you can’t understand the concept of a weekend getaway with friends

What would I need a “night off” from? Hanging out with my family? Huh?

A lot of these arguments can be solved by adding “for me personally”

Normalize cutting the tension in a meeting by ending it with, “We’re all gonna die one day, so none of this really matters.”

I can tell this will become an annual lament for me: the “trunk and treat” is a degraded, uncivilized, atomized replacement for actually going around to your neighbors’ houses and interacting with them on Halloween. Horrible development in American life.

It's reasonable to leave a 3-year-old with a trusted relative for a weekend, and it's also reasonable to not want to. It's reasonable for adults to celebrate their birthdays expecting that friends can show up for them once per year, and it's reasonable that sometimes they can't.

I occupy a sort of thin space in the mommy wars wherein the fact that I am my kid’s primary caregiver day in and day out makes me not worry nor feel the slightest bit of guilt about this sort of stuff at all. She has me 99% of the time. Mommy is having fun at the party tonight sweetheart. 😂
My friend wants to plan a couples, no-kids weekend getaway, splitting the cost of a large AirBNB, in January for her 30th birthday. I really do not love this idea (husband is mortified), neither to spend the money nor to get someone to take the toddler for 3 days. It would be a 2.5 hour drive away for us, too, so it’s not like we’re close if something happens. I haven’t been away from him for even 1 night yet and he still just seems so young! It would be very hard to leave him for that long. Am I just a party pooper who needs to get over it? Genuine question. Like I actually need advice here guys

Sure, they are violent, but at least they contribute nothing to the economy. They may be retarded but then again they are also almost all on welfare. Yes, they are incompatible with western culture but they do also rape a lot.
A 20-year-old Afghan spent over five hours raping an 18-year-old Polish language student on a Munich U-Bahn platform. Victim was smashed and completely helpless. He finished, stole the phone, and walked off. Cameras caught the whole thing. Cops tracked him through the stolen device and locked him up. Another low-impulse import treating Europe like an open-air hunting ground. Deport the lot of them.
