TO BE CLEAR....I am a DC fan FIRST. That has nothing to do with Snyder. That had nothing to do with James Gunn. It just so happens that WB has always owned the DC IP. I know what I like and what I don't about film, entertainment & DC. It just so happens Snyder, Nolan and the writers of the first 4 years of the DCEU wrote some incredible stories and brought DC characters to life. They took it seriously. The studio had other plans and backstabbed all of those fans of that universe and those stories and brought Gunn in to take control of DC. Gunn is for 15 year olds. He writes like a degenerate and it shows in everything he does. He completely disrespects DC characters. I will never be HAPPY about that and I don't have to accept it. I will still cover DC moving forward. That bothers some. TOO BAD!! I don't just stop because I don't like the content. You don't like it then move on.

I don’t believe ANYTHING him and Gunn say about these projects. Every time they have hyped something up it has been a failure.
Peter Safran's feedback after a private screening of the first director's cut for James Gunn's MAN OF TOMORROW "It's easily the best Superman movie ever made...James really outdid himself this time I can't wait for the audience to see it"

Islamists are literally beheading Christians in Nigeria.. I wonder why the activists who care so much about innocent people dying rarely talk about this..

I am so glad people are FINALLY seeing James Gunn for who he is. NOTHING he promised has to to fruition.
I think James Gunn is quietly moving the goalposts on what he originally promised the DCU would be, and I'm starting to wonder if he's hoping people forgot what he said back in 2023. When Gunn announced GODS AND MONSTERS, he promised that everything moving forward would be canon, connected, and consistent. He talked about building a "big, huge central story" comparable to Marvel, only more planned out from the beginning. There was an 8–10 year roadmap, interconnected characters, and an overarching narrative. That was the sales pitch. That was what audiences were told to invest in. Fast-forward to October 2026, and now Gunn is explaining that the DCU is simply a universe where individual stories can exist without necessarily building toward something bigger. He wants people watching CLAYFACE because it's a good horror movie, not because it connects to another project down the road. And look, I understand that philosophy. Not everything needs to be homework. But that's a noticeably different emphasis from what he was selling three years ago. And the timing is interesting. SUPERGIRL bombed, CLAYFACE is off to a decent but relatively modest start, several GODS AND MONSTERS projects remain in development limbo, and we still don't have an established DCU Batman. Is Gunn adjusting expectations because the original plan isn't coming together the way he envisioned? Or is this just an executive trying to manage audience expectations while the pieces slowly fall into place? I'm not saying Gunn deliberately lied in 2023, but his words matter. Especially now that he's running a studio and not simply directing movies. You don't get to sell audiences on an interconnected, meticulously planned universe and then act surprised when they start asking what the hell everything is building toward. Maybe the plan hasn't changed at all. But if that's the case, perhaps Gunn should explain what happened to that big central story he was so excited to promise everybody. Because audiences remember what they were sold. And after nearly four years, I think they've earned a little more clarity.

The spin on this is insane.
#Clayface reportedly overperformed overseas, making $46M worldwide over the weekend! $24M domestic & $22.5M overseas (an almost even split without Japan/China!)

Yes. Yes, it is.
- They said Superman made $100M profit while earning $617M lifetime collection with a $225M budget (without marketing). - They said Supergirl needs to make $300M for breakeven with a $170M budget (which isn't ×2.5) - They said Clayface already made it's budget after earning $43M in first weekend with a budget of $44M 😭 This has to be the biggest con universe of all time🤣💯

It’s become the most mediocre slop.
Zack Snyder destroyed the brand so bad that even after he left Wonder Women, Aquaman, JOKER and The Batman were massive hits. It’s simple, majority of people don’t really care about the DCU. It’s nothing special. It’s not exciting.

💯
Clayface is a rated R, adult horror film that treats its audience like we’re 5 years old. It’s dumbed down fast food cinema made for streaming so people can scroll on TikTok and follow along at the same time + it’s tone is closer to Madame Web than it is to The Batman

I really want a solo Batman film with Ben Affleck. Damn!! #BenAffleck #Batman #ZackSnyder
If DC and WB won't give the genuine DC fans what they want, we'll do it ourselves! Ben Affleck's BATMAN!

Yep.
They cried and attacked snyder when BvS didn’t hit One Billion Dollar being the 2nd movie in DCEU Now 10 YEARS LATER and 4 YEARS since GUNN arrived to DC Gunn’s first 3 DC Studios movies combined still haven’t passed BvS total and they say We Are Back 🤦🤣

Yep!
You can talk all you want about the BvS second weekend drop, but that doesn't change the fact that it still sold more theatrically than all three DCU releases combined, plus crushing home video sales. Snyderverse sells, Gunn's DCU does not, simple as that #RestoreTheSnyderVerse

DC is so back!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 #ClayfaceMovie
“Clayface” arrived on the lower end of the studio’s expectations of $25 million to $35 million. The antihero adaptation earned another $19 million overseas for a global tally of $43 million. variety.com/2026/film/box-of…
