#KentuckyRouteZero: A delivery driver seeks directions; little does he know they’ll lead him down an invisible highway to a mysterious underworld. #KRZ is a journey into a fading America in tailspin, populated by lost souls living in the wreckage. A magical must-play game. 10/10

This winsome sequel improves on the original in every way. An aesthetic home run, it’s one of the most gorgeous, lush 2D platformers ever. The gameplay is slick & fluid, but suffers from overly fussy, frustrating sections. It’s excellent nonetheless. 8/10
#AShortHike: One of the finest indies of recent years comes to #NintendoSwitch. As a teen bird called Claire, explore Hawks Peak Provincial Park. Meet friends, play games, run races, and climb to the mountaintop looking for phone signal. A warm, witty, heartwarming game. 10/10
#Pikuniku: in the #NintendoSwitch’s unfortunate deluge of budget shovelware, this game stands tall. Simple and charming, it’s a couple of hours of light fun spent platforming, puzzling, discovering secrets, befriending worms, and dismantling capitalism with your rubber legs. 8/10
#Firewatch: Henry escapes his life problems as a fire guard deep in the woods one summer. He wander the forest trails with his supervisor Delilah for company—albeit only via walkie-talkie—as an engaging rural mystery unfolds. A relaxing 6-hour story-led nature simulator. 👍 8/10

#TellingLies: The clock is ticking as you try to untangle a complex mystery via a database of intimate surveillance videos. Smart keyword searches uncover clips from the mundane, to the NSFW, to the revelatory. Piece the plot together, if you can. Original & compelling. 8/10
#Feather: a relaxing free-form bird exploration game sounds perfect. And it is, for half an hour. But after that, I wondered: does collecting fruit, catching fish or lighting torches actually do anything? What’s here is fun, but this avian journey seems awkwardly incomplete. 5/10
#Gris: this beautiful platform-puzzler is an emotional journey. The artwork is stunning from beginning to the end; the simple gameplay, however, has a few exasperating blips that interrupt the overall relaxing tone. Nevertheless, it’s a must play for the visual style alone. 7/10
#Bulletstorm: For all the cuteness & good vibes of the #NintendoSwitch, sometimes we all wanna blast stuff into smithereens. Bulletstorm is that game: a sci-fi shooter-on-rails with humour, cartoon gore, great mechanics, and a focus on pure player enjoyment. Give it a whirl. 7/10
#Afterparty: A game set in hell, from the devs of #Oxenfree. The walk ’n’ talk gameplay is familiar, but instead of smart & creepy, this time it’s bug-riddled & messy. The sub-games are tedious; the jokes are juvenile & don’t always land. Some charm & laughs. Disappointing. 6/10
#SoulAxiomRebooted: Welcome to digital heaven, where souls are uploaded. However, glitch-ghosts & demons run free, and everything is broken. A compelling environment is marred by nasty performance issues; the puzzles vary between satisfying & tedious. Almost good. 6/10
#WhatRemainsOfEdithFinch: A melancholy 2-hour wander through a bizarre family history. Each chapter is locked inside the bedroom of a deceased Finch, and as we explore the family mansion, we find out how they met their unfortunate end. Mesmerising. Play it on a rainy Sunday. 8/10
#ELEAParadigmShift: This short, visually ambitious sci-fi adventure bends reality before your eyes. Unfortunately, it’s littered with crippling performance drops, bugs & control glitches that render it near-unplayable upon #Switch release. 3/10
Full review soon @switchindiefix.
#WideOceanBigJacket: Far from all the sci-fi & sorcery, this 1hr camping game will charm you. Roast hot dogs, wander the beach, crack jokes, birdwatch, have intimate chats—and come away feeling somehow better for the experience. 8/10
(Full review coming soon for @switchindiefix)
#SuperMarioOdyssey: An admirable, energetic reboot that’s a joyful riot of ideas and creativity. The gameplay evolves from world to world & moment to moment, surprising & delighting for the duration. Slightly slippery controls don’t matter: one of the very best Mario games. 10/10
#DonutCounty: Use a physics-defying moveable hole to suck items into the earth. Every time you do, the hole grows; start with a fork, and soon you’ll be gulping down buildings. There’s an amusing plot—of sorts—and an enjoyable cast of animals. Undemanding, short & fun. 7/10

#ToTheMoon: Two doctors enter the mind of a dying man to adjust his memory & fulfil his dying wish of travelling to the moon. We visit his key life events, coming to care for him along the way. Sadly, the gameplay is tedious & the controls clunky, derailing an A+ script. 6/10
